10 Magical Moments at Night in Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is always magical; however, there is something extra special about being there at night. Not only does the temperature go down, but the magic seems to go up. Magic Kingdom feels different at night when the sun goes down for the day.

Everything has a little extra magic with all the lights throughout the lands. We have ten experiences that we think are magical at night in Magic Kingdom. Add these to your must-do list.

10. Tron Lightcycle Run- Tomorrowland

We will jump in with the newest experience at Magic Kingdom that we feel is extra special at night. Tron Lightcycle Run is a thrilling coaster that takes guests through the grid on a high-speed race along a dark track.

One of the most exciting parts includes the outside portion of the ride, where guests are racing under the attraction canopy. Although this section is fantastic, no matter when you ride, it is extra special when the lights are on at night.

If you aren’t a coaster fan, watch a few rides through this area under the lights. It is stunning.

9. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad- Frontierland

Another coaster in Magic Kingdom that we find to have a little more magic at night is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The wild ride becomes even more wild once the sun goes down. The hills and turns are slightly more thrilling when you can’t see them as clearly.

We also love to time this ride during the fireworks. There is something extra magical about being on this coaster as the fireworks surround you.

8. Jungle Cruise- Adventureland

Jungle Cruise is a ride that takes on a completely different feel during the night. In the evening, your boat will have one headlight guiding you through the other rivers and on your adventure.

Each scene is lit up in a way that makes it almost eerie in some areas. Be aware when riding at night; your skippers might be more adult-focused regarding their puns and jokes- something we find hilarious.

7. Prince Charming Regal Carrousel- Fantasyland

As a classic attraction, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel doesn’t always get the love it deserves. Even if you don’t have little ones, take time during the evening when the carousel glows with beautiful lights to take a ride.

As you spin the carousel, you can enjoy amazing nighttime views of both Cinderella Castle and Fantasyland, all a glow from the lights of the night.

Dumbo's Flying Circus

6. Dumbo the Flying Elephant- Storybook Circus

Another classic attraction you might not always have on your list, but should at night, is Dumbo the Flying Elephant. This attraction is stunning at night. The combination of the ride’s lights and the small water feature make this gorgeous in the evening hours.

The view from high up on Dumbo at night is also stunning. You can see parts of Magic Kingdom lit up and shining under the moonlight.

5. Haunted Mansion- Liberty Square

This one might seem strange as it is an indoor attraction, but we believe it is more magical at night. The beauty of the mansion comes to light under the moon. We love how the creepy fact increases slightly as the evening hours settle in.

Take time at night to experience Haunted Mansion; it takes on a different feel than it has during the day.

3. The Hub- Main Street, U.S.A.

We love relaxing and enjoying the nighttime views of Magic Kingdom from the hub. It provides the best views of Cinderella Castle, and we also love seeing the Partners Statue, Main Street, U.S.A., and the train station, all bright and beautiful at night.

Sometimes, the true magic is sitting and taking a moment to soak it all in. We love doing this under the stars and with the gorgeous lights on the castle.

2. Happily Ever After- Main Street, U.S.A.

A truly magical experience that everyone should have at Magic Kingdom is watching Happily Ever After. This fantastic nighttime show is genuinely what Disney magic is all about. The show combines music, projections, fireworks, and a heartwarming message.

Take time to enjoy this show one evening at Magic Kingdom. You won’t be sorry.

1. Kiss Goodnight

After you have enjoyed Happily Ever After, stick around Magic Kingdom. The castle will begin to twinkle once Magic Kingdom officially closes for the evening, and “When You Wish Upon a Star” will play.

A final goodnight message will be played over the speakers, and finally, Mickey Mouse will wish all guests a last goodnight. This is the perfect end to a day at Magic Kingdom and a must-do experience at least once.

There is something unique about having Mickey Mouse himself wish you a good night as you head out after a magical day in the park.

The magic is always alive at Magic Kingdom, but during the nighttime hours, it feels slightly different. Schedule in time during your Walt Disney World vacation to experience the magic that happens during the evening at Magic Kingdom.
