Don’t Miss Out On These Lightning Lanes at Disney

Guests traveling to Walt Disney World now have the option to add Genie+ to their Theme Park Tickets. Genie+ is a paid feature that allows Guests to bypass the standby lines throughout the four Disney Parks.

To make sure you get the most out of your purchase, we are going to let you know which Lightning Lanes you won’t want to miss out on in each of the four Parks.

By making sure you use Genie+ for these attractions, you will be saving yourself the most time in line during your vacation.

Genie+ 101

If you aren’t 100% sure what Genie+ is, make sure to head to How to Disney to do some research. This will give you a better understanding of this feature.

Overall, Genie+ can be added each day starting at midnight via the My Disney Experience app. Once purchased, Guests can book Lightning Lanes for specific rides, shows, and experiences throughout the four Parks. This saves time in line giving Guests more time to experience other things in the Disney Parks.

Not all Lightning Lanes are created equal though. Some rides see their Lightning Lanes book up quickly in the morning making them a priority. We want to make sure you know what these are in each Park.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

There aren’t as many attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that use Lightning Lane. With fewer rides overall at this Park, Guests have fewer ways to use Genie+.

Na’vi River Journey

The first ride we would recommend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Genie+ is Na’vi River Journey. This slow moving boat ride through the bioluminescent rainforest of Pandora is extremely popular. Because the whole family can enjoy it together, the wait for this ride can sometimes be as long as Avatar Flight of Passage.

If Na’vi River Journey is a must-do for your family, use Genie+ to skip that long line.

Kilimanjaro Safaris

The other ride we would recommend getting a Lightning Lane for at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Kilimanjaro Safaris. Again this popular ride through the savanna is one the whole family can do together. Being a longer ride, and one that waits on the animals, the wait times grow quickly.

Kilimanjaro Safaris is a fantastic experience, but waiting in a long, hot line is not. Get that Lightning Lane.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Where Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a limited number of rides to choose from, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has so many E ticket attractions that it can be hard to know where to start with your Genie+ selections.

Stinky Dog Dash

The beloved family coaster back in Toy Story Land continues to be the top option for Genie+ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This ride sees extremely long waits as soon as the Park opens. Because of that, Genie+ is an excellent option.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

The other ride we would recommend focusing on when it comes to Lightning Lanes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Since this ride is so unique, most thrill seeking Guests have it as a must-do. This causes the line to quickly build throughout the day. By using the Lightning Lane, you can have more time to enjoy the other E ticket attractions in the Park.

EPCOT

Now more than ever before Lightning Lanes have become helpful for touring EPCOT.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

The trackless family ride of Remy’s is still the number one option for Lightning Lanes at EPCOT. This attraction is still extremely popular and one that Guests are often waiting a long time for during the day. Get your Lightning Lane early to skip it.

Frozen Ever After

Another great Lightning Lane to get while in EPCOT is Frozen Ever After. This boat ride through Arendelle is a dream for Frozen fans. If you have little ones who want to experience this ride, use your Lightning Lane to bypass the long wait.

Test Track

Finally, if you have thrill seekers visiting EPCOT with you, then focus on Test Track for your Genie+. This ride is a top choice for older kids and since it can’t run during those Florida storms, the waits can build. Don’t waste a lot of your time in line but instead get that Lightning Lane.

Magic Kingdom

The great thing about using Genie+ in Magic Kingdom is that there are so many rides and attractions to choose from. This can also make it difficult. Prioritize what your family wants to do and use our suggestions to know what to book first.

Peter Pan’s Flight

This classic Disney attraction that takes Guests high about Neverland is number one for Lightning Lanes at Magic Kingdom. For some reason, this ride continues to have long waits no matter what time of day it is.

Don’t spend a long time waiting for pixie dust, instead use a Lightning Lane here.

Jungle Cruise

Another good option in Magic Kingdom is Jungle Cruise. Since this is a slower loading ride that has limited boats, the wait can get long quickly. Although it is a lot of fun, waiting in the hot queue is not. Use that Lightning Lane to avoid being miserable.

Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain

For thrill seekers in Magic Kingdom, make sure that you snag Lightning Lanes for the two main mountains. These two roller coasters have high waits in the afternoons. Spend more time relaxing by using a Lightning Lane instead.

Those are the top Lightning Lanes that you will want to focus on when purchasing Genie+. These are the rides that see their Lightning Lanes go quickly and therefore should be a priority.

Use these tips to get the most out of your purchase.
