Disneyland’s Best Boozy Beverages!
When Walt Disney opened Disneyland Park in 1955, he had grand ambitions and strict guidelines. One of his main rules was that guests wouldn’t be allowed to purchase alcohol in the parks. He envisioned Disneyland as a place where families, especially children and their parents, could enjoy themselves together without anyone feeling out of place. Walt wanted the park to attract the right kind of families.
This is why he was adamant about the no-alcohol policy — he believed it would draw the wrong crowd. However, that rule changed with the debut of EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort in 1982, and now there isn’t a Disney theme park where guests of legal drinking age can’t enjoy a drink.
Disneyland Resort didn’t sell alcohol to regular guests until Disney California Adventure Park opened in 2001, although Club 33 members had access to alcoholic beverages at the restaurant prior to that. Today, enjoying a drink at Disneyland has become a much-anticipated part of the experience, with a variety of specialty cocktails available for various celebrations.
Let’s explore some of the best drinks you can savor at The Happiest Place on Earth!
Fuzzy Tauntaun – Oga’s Cantina
In 2019, Disneyland Park welcomed an exciting new area: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This immersive land takes guests to a galaxy far, far away, allowing them to step into the heart of their favorite films. Visitors can pilot the Millennium Falcon, sip the iconic blue milk, and even face off against Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren.

With the opening of Galaxy’s Edge came Oga’s Cantina, the first venue in Disneyland—aside from the exclusive Club 33—where guests could purchase alcohol. At Oga’s Cantina, DJ Rex spins the hottest tracks in the galaxy while patrons enjoy unique drinks that can’t be found anywhere else.
One standout drink is the Fuzzy Tauntaun, crafted with Cîroc Peach Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, and Simply Orange, topped with tangerine and pure cane sugar.

If we had to choose one drink to recommend, it would definitely be the Fuzzy Tauntaun. Not only is it delicious, but it also features the “Buzz Button Tingling” Foam, leaving your lips with a delightful tingling sensation!
5… 4… 3… 2… 1 – Magic Key Terrace
If you enjoy sweet, fruity cocktails, then this drink is perfect for you. However, there’s a catch: the 5… 4… 3… 2… 1 is exclusively available at the Magic Key Terrace in Disney California Adventure Park. Only Magic Key Holders can make reservations there, but they are welcome to bring guests along.
The cocktail menu features several fantastic options, many of which are inspired by Disney attractions, including the 5… 4… 3… 2… 1, named after the California Screamin’ Roller Coaster, now known as the IncrediCoaster.
The 5… 4… 3… 2… 1 is crafted with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Bols Blue Curaçao, Coconut-Pineapple Cream, and fresh lime juice. Not only is it delicious, but it also looks stunning and adds a fun element to your dining experience!
R&D Martini – Pym Tasting Lab
I’ll be honest: I’m not a huge coffee fan, especially when it comes to strong espresso. But if that coffee tastes like dessert? I’m all in!
The R&D Martini at Pym Tasting Lab in Avengers Campus delivers that much-needed caffeine boost to power through a busy day at Disney, perfectly balanced with sweetness and creaminess.
This delightful cocktail is a classic espresso martini, made with espresso, vodka, and coffee liqueur, then blended with cereal-infused milk and topped with chocolate-covered espresso beans and cereal crumbles.
You can enjoy this tasty drink while mingling with your favorite superheroes and catching a performance or two. Avengers Campus is a fantastic area, and a visit to Pym Tasting Lab is a must!
DOLE Whip Cocktail – Lamplight Lounge
There are plenty of fantastic drink options at The Happiest Place on Earth, but Disney keeps some of them under wraps. These are known as secret menu items, and they’re definitely worth inquiring about.
One of Disney’s most beloved snacks is the DOLE Whip, a delicious pineapple soft-serve ice cream. Whether you prefer the classic DOLE Whip or the DOLE Whip Float (which combines pineapple soft-serve with pineapple juice), you won’t want to miss out on the DOLE Whip Cocktail at Lamplight Lounge!

The DOLE Whip Cocktail is sweet and creamy—the perfect Disney treat. It features Absolut Citron, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, whipped cream, and pineapple juice. You can also get the DOLE Whip Cocktail as a shot, but be careful—it’s a hefty shot that’s more like two servings in one glass!
The Black Pearl – Lamplight Lounge
Like the Dole Whip Cocktail, this drink is part of the secret menu, and it’s definitely worth a try. While Captain Jack Sparrow might not be thrilled about us blowing holes in his ship, he’d surely appreciate this drink since it features his favorite spirit: rum!
The Black Pearl is a playful Disney take on a Long Island Iced Tea, so be mindful—it can sneak up on you if you’re not careful. This cocktail includes vodka, gin, and light rum, complemented by a splash of Chambord (a raspberry liqueur). It’s then blended with sweet and sour mix and topped with Sprite, providing the perfect touch of sweetness.
