Disney World Ride Evacuated, Locked Down After Reported Emergency
A significant portion of Disney’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park was blocked off to guests after an alleged fire broke out on a classic attraction.
Even “The Most Magical Place on Earth” is not impervious to accidents and emergencies. While Disney and its cast members certainly work very hard to maintain the immersive experience the Disney resort is so famous for, things do go awry, and cast members and guests have to rise to the occasion to respond to emergencies.
In the past, there have been tragedies that have occurred at the Disney Parks—unfortunately, fans have lost their lives, and people have been injured or dealt with medical emergencies. Recently, there was another reported emergency at Disney World.

Fire on Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster Causes Evacuation, Area Goes Under Lockdown
Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster is one of the most intense and popular roller coasters at Disney World. The ride opened in 1999 in collaboration with iconic rock band Aerosmith. It’s in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, on Sunset Boulevard to the left of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The ride has guests clutching their pearls in delighted terror as it takes them for a ride in “the fast lane,” going 0 to 60 miles per hour in a matter of seconds.
Undoubtedly, it’s one of the most iconic Disney World attractions.
On November 15, account DisneyWorldTom shared the news that a fire alarm evacuation at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closed an entire area at Hollywood Studios theme park in Walt Disney World.
At the time, the ride was listed as “temporarily closed” on My Disney Experience, and Disney didn’t officially comment, which meant no other information was provided. Disney also didn’t share the extent of the reported fire or if there was a fire at all. (It is possible that the fire alarm seen in the video below was accidentally set off by either cast members or guests).

As seen in the video, the fire alarm caused a complete evacuation of the attraction as well as the closure of the area, and it’s unclear what the cause was. The ride was completely evacuated and blocked off, with all guests being ushered out of the area.
Thankfully, at the moment, it appears that no guest sustained any injuries during this occurrence and that things have gone back to normal since then. As of writing this article, the Disney Park attraction is back online, and in fact, even has a 20-minute wait.
Here’s hoping that the damage (if any) was negligible and contained and that nobody got hurt during this fire alarm scare.
