Disney Reveals Exactly When Its Winnie the Pooh Attraction Will Close
A fan-favorite Winnie the Pooh ride is closing in July.
Winnie the Pooh has a different history at almost every Disney resort. Instead of building one version of the attraction and copying it around the world, Disney created rides with their own layouts, technology, and scenes.

The result is four distinct versions of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Magic Kingdom’s ride replaced Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in 1999, while Tokyo Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland each later introduced their own take on the Hundred Acre Wood.
Tokyo Disneyland’s version is often considered the fan favorite thanks to its trackless ride system, which lets honey pots travel independently through each scene. Hong Kong Disneyland’s attraction includes exclusive animation, while Shanghai Disneyland also offers Hunny Pot Spin, a separate family ride themed to Pooh.
Pooh Ride Closing for One Week
Guests visiting Hong Kong Disneyland next month will find the attraction temporarily unavailable.
According to the resort’s official calendar, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh will close on July 12 for refurbishment. Disney expects the attraction to reopen on July 19.

The company has not said what work is being carried out. With the closure lasting only a week, it appears to be routine maintenance rather than a significant refurbishment.
Guests can still meet Winnie the Pooh and friends in Fantasy Gardens during the closure. Disney has yet to confirm whether the attraction’s gift shop will stay open.
The Pooh ride is just one attraction currently affected by refurbishment work across the resort.
Tarzan’s Treehouse and the Rafts to Tarzan’s Treehouse remain closed indefinitely, with Disney still yet to announce reopening dates for either attraction.

Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad’s Main Street Station is also unavailable and is expected to remain closed through at least late September.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! is also temporarily closed in Tomorrowland’s Stark Expo. Disney currently plans to reopen the attraction on July 4.
More Projects on the Way
Construction is continuing elsewhere across the resort.
Hong Kong Disneyland is building a new Pixar-themed area between Toy Story Land and World of Frozen, with an opening planned for 2027. Disney is also developing a Spider-Man attraction for Stark Expo as it continues expanding its Marvel offerings.

Current visitors can still experience Pixar Summer Fest, which includes the Pixar Pals Spectacular before Momentous, the Pixar Water Play Street Party!, and the Friendtastic! Parade.
The Pooh refurbishment will be short, but it joins a growing list of attraction closures guests should factor into their plans before visiting the resort.
