Disney’s Surprise Move: New Theme Park Restriction Blocks Paid Guest Entry, Loophole Exposed

It looks like Apple has found a workaround against Disney’s latest restriction of their newest product, the Apple Vision Pro.

If you are an Apple fan, or you use the internet in any capacity, you have likely at least heard of the Apple Vision Pro. While virtual reality headsets for gaming have certainly been around for quite some time, the Apple Vision Pro headset has really progressed the future of what can be done through virtual reality. Now, the once blinding to the outside-world design of VR is see-through, giving users the ability to use their natural landscape as their “desktop background”, giving them full visibility.

When the product came out, the first guest who wore their Apple Vision Pro to Walt Disney World was told that he would have to remove it, and that the item was now banned from the theme parks, much like selfie sticks, and other prohibited items at Disney. It appears that the headset violates Disney’s costume rule, which states that no costumes, including masks, can be worn by guests over the age of 14.

When the incident occurred, it was reported that the cast member noted that they are still looking into the safety of Apple Vision Pro in the parks. This was an interesting turn of events after Disney CEO Bob Iger was so heavily involved in integrating Disney+ into the Apple Vision Pro, but now, the item is not even allowed into his theme parks.

While you may not be able to bring the Apple Vision Pro into the Disney parks, there is a way that you can feel like you are using them inside of the parks while you are at home.

Disney fan account Mickey Central (@Mickey_Central) shared a video of how you can use different spatial transforming features to alter the location in which you are in, including the one below, which looks a lot like Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor at Magic Kingdom. The space is meant to replicate an area in Monsters Inc., which works perfectly considering the Disney attraction is meant to also replicate the area as well.

Disney+ on Apple Vision Pro lets you watch movies in 3D spaces such as Monsters, Inc. scream floor. It truly feels like you are there!

How many small details can you spot??

While you may not be able to immerse yourself in the Apple Vision Pro while at Disney parks, you can still get that Disney experience at home.

It seems that the ongoing Disney ban on the Apple Vision Pro is still working out its kinks. While Disney originally noted that all security would be notified to ensure guests were not bringing in their Apple Vision Pro, we have since seen guests using the headset while ordering food, and it appears that the cast member did not have any issue with it.

As this has been a very new restriction, it may just be that the knowledge of the Apple Vision Pro not being allowed in the parks has not yet been communicated to all cast members, or, it could mean that the ban has been lifted. It is certainly confusing for guests at the moment as social media reports are showing signs that the Apple Vision Pro is both not allowed and allowed, while at Disney.

While security is supposed to refuse entry for guests wearing headsets, wearing them at your Disney resort should be fine, as many dress code rules are not in place while you are at your hotel. So, if you want to relax on the swings at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and pop on Lilo & Stitch, it is likely that no one will bother you.

What do you think about Disney’s workaround for the theme park restriction of the Apple Vision Pro?
