Alcohol-Loving Guests Take Drastic Measures After Disney Cuts Them Off
Alcoholic beverages can enhance a vacation (or a regular day, for that matter), but they can also be very dangerous when used excessively or used too often. Many adult Walt Disney World Resort Guests associate vacations with alcohol, and therefore seek out cocktails or other alcoholic beverages like beer while they are visiting the Disney Parks in Florida.
One custom in the Disney Park called EPCOT, known as Drinking Around the World, actually involves drinking alcohol in all 13 countries and has allegedly resulted in significant damage to the Disney Park that was caused by drunk Disney Adults!
An Understandable Cutback
With Disney Guests behaving more and more abominably on their Disney vacations and doing everything from fistfighting to mutilating other Guests, Disney has understandably chosen to cut back on alcoholic offerings. After all, if people are going to be violent or unkind, alcohol typically only makes those behaviors worse!
The effort to make certain Disney World locations less welcoming for alcohol consumption — or to make certain establishments completely “dry” — has led to an increase in expenses for Disney Guests who do want to buy alcoholic drinks on their vacations or Disney visits.
One advantage for alcohol drinkers and cocktail fans that has just been removed by Disney involves hotel drinking.
No More Deliveries
Disney Resort Guests used to be able to have alcohol delivered and leave their delivery with Bell Services, then bring it up to their room for nightcaps once their days in the Disney theme parks had come to a close.
This perk is now off the table, and Disney Adults are responding by buying whatever hard liquor they can find in Disney Resort gift shops (which doesn’t come cheap)!
Is It Worth the High Prices?
Hard liquor, beer, and wine can be found in the gift shops at more upscale Disney locations like Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, but also at Disney’s cheaper Value Resorts like Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Do you love drinking alcohol on your Disney vacations, and has Disney’s new alcohol ban in Bell Services driven you to buy expensive gift shop liquor instead?
