Disney Implements New Attraction Rule, Limits Guests Based on Body Size
Disneyland Resort allows guests a sense of community and togetherness, bringing families and friends closer through shared experiences and cherished memories. Whether it’s bonding over a delicious churro, meeting beloved Disney characters, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of the park, Disneyland brings out the childlike wonder in all who visit.
Disneyland is known as “The Happiest Place on Earth,” seeing thousands of guests walk through the park gates daily. All these guests come from near and far from different backgrounds, sizes, and cultures.
Recently, Disneyland has made a change to one of its popular attractions. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, known for its fun and inclusive experience, is now undergoing adjustments. Nate tweeted a photo on X (formerly known as Twitter), revealing that seat dividers are being added to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, potentially limiting access for larger guests.

Typically, most Disney attractions are celebrated for their inclusivity, accommodating Disneyland guests of all sizes and fostering a welcoming environment. However, the addition of seat dividers to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway deviates from this norm. Initially intended to be an inclusive attraction, the installation of dividers imposes a fixed guest count per row, potentially causing discomfort for guests unable to fit within the confined space.
Situated within Disneyland’s Toontown, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway debuted as the latest addition to the park during the grand reopening of Toontown. This whimsical ride, originating from the same attraction housed at Walt Disney World Resort in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, immerses guests in the world of the Perfect Picnic cartoon. As guests board the trackless ride vehicle, Goofy leads them on a delightful adventure.
During the ride, guests encounter familiar faces such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto, and many others, adding to the magical experience.
Despite the changes to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Disneyland remains committed to providing enjoyable experiences for guests of all ages and sizes. Several attractions across the park ensure accessibility for all, including classics like “it’s a small world,” Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and many more.
In essence, while Disneyland undergoes adjustments to certain attractions, its dedication to inclusivity and creating magical moments for guests remains steadfast. Through ongoing efforts, Disneyland continues to uphold its reputation as a place where everyone can experience joy and wonder, regardless of their size or background.
