5 Essential Items Disney Cast Members Say You Need

Packing for a day in a Disney Park isn’t always easy.  We’d like to think that with the creation of MagicBands, we wouldn’t really need to bring a lot with us into the Parks.  This isn’t the case at all.  As we look at all the things we think we need to bring into the Parks with us, there has to be a happy middle ground.

Although it is important to be prepared, there are probably some items that you don’t absolutely need to haul around with you each day in a Disney Park.  We are going to share the top five essential items that Disney Cast Members suggest Guests have with them in a Disney Park.

Take a look at these five items and make sure that they make it into your Disney Park Bag.

Magic Band Entrance

ID and Credit Card

As we mentioned previously, it would be wonderful if all we needed as we entered Disney Park was our MagicBand and our phones.  This isn’t the case.  Even though you do have the ability to charge back to your Walt Disney World Resort using your MagicBand, it is still recommended that you bring a credit card with you just in case.

Sometimes MagicBands won’t work and you will need another method of payment.  Keep this in mind as you pack.  If you have ApplePay or a similar method of payment on your phone you might be able to skip the credit card, but just make sure you have a plan.

An ID is also important to have with you if you plan on enjoying any alcoholic beverages.  Disney typically IDs everyone no matter their age so has it ready to go to make it easier on everyone.

It can be easy to think you don’t need these items at a Disney Park, but Disney Cast Members recommend that you keep them as a backup.

Water

One of the biggest issues that Disney Cast Members see daily at the Disney Parks is Guests suffering from dehydration.  Make sure when you are heading to the Disney Parks you have a plan on how you are going to stay hydrated.

You can bring your own water to the Disney Parks or you can get free water from quick service locations throughout the day.  No matter what you prefer, making sure you have a plan is key to success.

For those that are picky about water, think about having bottled water deliver to your Disney Resort or even bring hydration packets to flavor the water.  No matter what method you choose, Cast Members want you to stay hydrated.

Rain Gear

Cast Members know that it can rain any day at any time at Walt Disney World.  Because of this, they are going to highly recommend that you bring rain gear to the Disney Parks each day.  No matter what the forecast is telling you, toss in those cheap ponchos.

Rain storms pop up suddenly all the time at Walt Disney World so make sure you are prepared for them will allow you to keep going and not miss any of the magic.  Having ponchos, rain jackets, or umbrellas packed and ready to go will save you not only money but also time.  You will be able to quickly toss grab the rain gear and keep on enjoying the Park.

My Disney Experience, the official Walt Disney World app, is essential to a successful Walt Disney World vacation.  In order to access the app, you are going to need your phone throughout the day.  Cast Members know that your cell phone’s battery will drain quickly because of accessing My Disney Experience all day.  This means that they are going to let you know that portable chargers are essential to pack.

If you don’t have access to your phone, you will not be able to access My Disney Experience.  If this is the case, you won’t be able to see wait times, use Genie+, see your reservations, and so much more.  Don’t get stuck with a dead phone.  Bring those portable chargers so you can stay connected.

Patience

The last item that Cast Members ask you to bring to the Disney Parks each and every day is your patience.  Even though a vacation to Walt Disney World is magic, happy, and fun, it can also be overwhelming, tiring, and stressful at times.

Things don’t always go as planned.  When this happens staying calm is key to making the best out of the situation.  Cast Members are going to be able to provide a lot more help if you remain calm and work with them instead of against them.

Know that these amazing Cast Members are working tirelessly to make sure you have a magical time.  Be patient and they work to do so when things aren’t going smoothly.
