9. What Rope Drop is and Why it’s Important

We Disney lovers are guilty of being so caught up in park lingo that planning a Disney vacation can seem intimidating to friends.  The term rope drop is commonly used among Disney guests and cast members to describe the park opening time each morning when guests are admitted to the park and get to start enjoying attractions. Cast members literally open the rope that is blocking guests from the park and allow them to pass through at rope drop, or park opening. Arriving at rope drop means you have the chance to enjoy the park during a cooler time of day, and most importantly dash over to your favorite ride to walk on, or enjoy a very short wait time.
