Weekend Wonders at Walt Disney World

As we headed into the weekend, we thought it would be fun to look at ways to have a magical time at Walt Disney World. Let’s pretend we are heading to Walt Disney World for the weekend and dreaming of a magical time together.

We will look at the four Disney Parks and what we would do if spending the weekend enjoying all the magic it offers. Come along with us to have some fun after a long week.

Magic Kingdom

It wouldn’t be a quick trip to Walt Disney World without a stop at Magic Kingdom. We love all the rides, entertainment, and overall magic in this Disney Park. If we had a weekend to spend here, there are some main experiences we would make sure we would experience.

Rides:

When visiting Magic Kingdom, we would want to experience a combination of classic rides and some thrills. All of the mountains would be on our list (Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Space Mountain), but we would also want to take in the magic from Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

With a quick weekend, we would focus on our favorites. Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion would be our top-ride focus when we arrive. After hitting these must-do attractions for us, we would fit in the other rides as possible.

Entertainment

It wouldn’t be a stop at Magic Kingdom without a stop to visit Mickey Mouse. We are thrilled that he is greeting Guests alongside Minnie Mouse currently. They are both found at Tony’s Town Square Theatre on Main Street. We love the adorable 50th Anniversary outfits.

After visiting Mickey Mouse, we would make sure we took time to enjoy some of the cavalcades, the Festival of Fantasy Parade, and Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire on the castle stage. These are great ways to see some of our other favorite Disney characters.

Food

Food is a big part of a Disney visit. There are some main treats and meals we would want to make sure we enjoyed while visiting Magic Kingdom. We would visit Sleepy Hollow in the morning to get a Mickey Waffle or the delicious fruit waffle. We love sitting next to the castle as the Park comes alive.

Don’t miss out on the spring roll cart while visiting Magic Kingdom. The cheeseburger spring rolls are not to miss. We also enjoy trying out the other flavors. These are great snack or quick lunch options.

Fireworks

To wrap up the evening at Magic Kingdom, we would make sure to enjoy a spot for Disney’s Enchantment. If we are only going to be there for a short period, we might even splurge and enjoy one of the dessert parties. Having some sweets and a reserved viewing area for the fireworks show would be the perfect ending to the evening.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

If we were going to spend our short weekend trip to Walt Disney World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we would be ready for a jam-packed day.

Rides

There are so many rides at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that we would want to ensure we had the chance to experience them during our short visit. We would probably invest in an Individual Lightning Lane for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This would help us save a lot of time waiting in line to experience this outstanding attraction.

Rope dropping would have us heading either to Slinky Dog Dash if we were in the front of the pack or on over to Sunset Boulevard for Rock n’ Roller Coaster and Twilight Tower of Terror. We would be sad if we didn’t experience these three excellent rides during our trip.

We also want to ensure that we experienced Mickey and Minnie’s Runway Railway and Toy Story Mania. Both of these rides leave us feeling happy afterward. They are so much fun.

Shows

Not only does Disney’s Hollywood Studios have fantastic rides, but the shows are lovely. A trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Frozen sing-along. We find this show to be so entertaining. We make sure to stop each stay and enjoy For the First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along.

Although we love Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, if we have a limited time in the Park, we would probably focus more on the fantastic rides.

Food

Disney’s Hollywood Studios isn’t known for fantastic food, but it is improving. With a shortened visit, we would focus on finding quick meals to allow for more time on rides.

The ronto wraps in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is our favorite. We would have these for either breakfast or lunch. Another quick location we enjoy is ABC Commissary or Woody’s Lunch Box. These both have good, quick entrees that are perfect for a day in a Disney Park.

Evening Show

If we dream big, we will end our evening with the return on Fantasmic. This nighttime show is one of our all-time favorites at Walt Disney World. We are thrilled it is coming back and will end our evening with this show.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

For a wild time, we would head to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for our quick tip. Here would be a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty of Disney.

Rides

Our first stop for rides would be Avatar: Flight of Passage. This ride leaves us breathless every visit. We love the beauty of it and won’t miss it.

Next, we would make sure we experience Kilimanjaro Safari. Being able to see the animals that make Disney home is so unique. Dinosaur and Expedition Everest are the two thrill rides that we wouldn’t miss out on.

Lion King Show

Shows

Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big, Blue, and Beyond are not missed shows at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These two shows bring the magic and beauty of these movies to life before the audience. We won’t miss them. We love seeing the fantastic performers in both of these performances and make a point to see them each visit.

Food

We would enjoy a great meal while in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. There are so many great quick-service locations that we would want to experience even during a quick trip. Flame Tree Barbecue and Satu’li Canteen would be at the top of our list.

Evening

There aren’t any nighttime shows at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, so we would wrap up our time by enjoying Pandora at night and the Beacons of Magic on the Tree of Life.

EPCOT

For a weekend of exploring, we would head to EPCOT.

Rides

We wouldn’t want to miss out on the newest ride at Walt Disney World Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. From there, we would take time to enjoy Remy’s Ratotoulie Adventure, Frozen Ever After, Soarin’, and Test Track. We love these experiences and wouldn’t want to miss out on them.

Festival of the Arts

Festivals

Another area we would make sure we experience at EPCOT is the festivals. Take time to enjoy some drinks, small plates, and entertainment. The International Food and Wine Festival is going on, but there are always unique festivals.

Shows

Finally, we slowed down and enjoyed the fantastic shows throughout the Park. Each World Showcase Pavilion has unique experiences that you won’t want to miss out on either.

This is the Park where we would slow down and enjoy the small pieces of magic.
