Disney World Guest Lashes Out Against Cast Members, Voices Frustration in Viral Video

A viral incident recently ruined the magic for an international family visiting Walt Disney World. The victim shared her frustration on TikTok; you can watch it below.

Walt Disney World Resort and its cast members go to extreme lengths to provide the best, most magical experiences for everyone who visits the parks, regardless of age, gender, nationality, etc.

Unfortunately, a viral TikTok user endured a much different experience. She divided hundreds of viewers after voicing her frustration in dealing with a “rude and condescending” cast member at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

TikTok user @teddybearosito recently posted a video voicing her frustration and warning international guests planning to ride Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

“Guys, be very careful if you’re going into Expedition Everest here, at Animal Kingdom, because there’s this really rude and condescending cast member,” the user commented before describing what the Disney World employee looked like and adding, “If you are a foreigner at least, she will speak to you as if you are stupid.”

The upset guest described the incident as a misunderstanding with the cast member who grouped families and guests to ride the attraction. The member allegedly sent Theodora’s family of three to rows nine and ten initially and then tried to split the group and send them to different rows.

“Instead of acting like a normal cast member and saying, ‘Hey, could you please go to eleven and twelve,’ she looked me dead in the eyes, and she said, ‘eleven and twelve’ as if I were stupid, as if I didn’t speak English,” the user commented before warning viewers planning to ride Expedition Everest, particularly “if you are a foreigner.”

The guest added that she tried to get the cast member’s name, but she allegedly covered her tag with her hair, “which, by the way, is against Disney policy.” You can see the video below or click here to watch it.

The video immediately sparked a divisive conversation in the comments, with many viewers siding with the guest and sharing similar experiences at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. However, many were skeptical about the incident and voiced their opinions.

One viewer, who mentioned being a former cast member, commented, “We would get misheard, misunderstood and, as a result, mistreated constantly all day long. I’m sorry if you feel like she was being rude but trying to smear someone’s name online is not the way to handle this. I watched this happen to a ton of my coworkers over the years. It could literally put them at risk at harassment at their job even more than they already get.”

Another viewer commented, “I’m missing the part where it’s apparent you are a foreigner and she’d know that?” The guest responded, “my family and I speak Portuguese, she clocked it and thought we didn’t understand her. We understood her very clearly, and we understood she doesn’t know how to do her job.”

One user commented, “There’s nobody that works there by that name 😂😂😂😂 anything for likes and attention 💀.” Theodora didn’t take the criticism lightly and responded, “Well she did try to conceal her identity when asked 🙂 if you work there I’m sure you know who fits the description… guest relations did too.”

Another viewer responded, “OK calm down Karen. Not that big of a deal.”

Theodora shared an update on the incident, commenting, “Disney reached out after my complaint! you can always trust they will listen.”

While the incident was undoubtedly unpleasant for the family, it is essential to mention that although Disney World and its cast members strive for perfection, they are still people who can make mistakes, particularly on Expedition Everest, one of the most crowded attractions in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and consequently one of the loudest dispatches in the park.

  1. By 5:50 or 6:00 p.m. I’m sure the cast members have had a day full of annoying, entitled guests like you. I bet their job is like herding cats onto the rides all day long. Your delivery of this complaint certainly demonstrates your condescending nature. It’s awful that one incident that took less than 60 seconds ruined your ENTIRE visit to the Magic Kingdom! Really?
