6 Underrated Disney Attractions That You Shouldn’t Skip

When planning a Disney vacation, you will likely have a long list of must-do attractions and experiences. However, there are some attractions that most Guests miss. You should take advantage of all attractions in the Walt Disney World Resort. Make time in your upcoming Disney vacation plans for the underrated Disney attractions that you shouldn’t skip.

Living with the Land

Living with the Land is an educational yet relaxing Disney attraction located in World Nature in EPCOT theme park. Guests are guided through a dark part of the ride, to begin with, that informs them of the different landscapes that are found around the world. Look above while passing through this part of the ride, and you may see some favorite Disney characters in the Garden Grill restaurant. Guests enter the EPCOT greenhouses in the second part of the ride. You get an insight into the crops grown by The Walt Disney Company to service Walt Disney World restaurants. Keep your eyes peeled for hidden Mickeys while cruising through the greenhouses.

You can often miss this Disney attraction in a rush to join the line for Soarin’ Around The World. Using the escalators on the right side of The Land Pavilion is another way Guests miss Living with the Land. Living with the Land generally has a short line and is a great way to rest while learning something new. You’ll be glad you took the time to experience this Disney attraction in the Disney Park.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom Park is filled with magic. But there’s one attraction that you may miss while experiencing other popular rides, such as Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train, it’s a small world, and Peter Pan’s Flight. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a ride that Guests of all ages can experience. Take a seat in a hunny pot and enter the tales of Winnie the Pooh. Along the way, you’ll see all your favorite characters from the stories, including Rabbit, Tigger, Piglet, Owl, Eeyore, and Pooh Bear. Your experience isn’t limited to the ride. You’ll feel like you’ve entered the 100 Acre Wood as you enter the attraction line. There’s plenty of fun to be had by Guests of all ages in the line too.

Tom Sawyer Island

Another underrated Magic Kingdom Park attraction is Tom Sawyer Island in Frontierland. It may be underrated because it’s only open at certain times of the day, or you must catch a raft across the island. Neither of these things should put you off the Magic Kingdom attraction. We love to catch the first raft across the Rivers of America. Once you are on Tom Sawyer Island, you can take as little or as long as you want to explore. Seek out the rocking chairs that offer a perfect view of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Alternatively, enjoy the view of the Haunted Mansion from the rope bridge on the other side of the island.

Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie

In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s more animation fun besides Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Whether you need a sit-down or a break from the sun and Florida heat, you should stop by the Mickey Shorts Theater in Echo Lake. Before entering the theater, you’re guaranteed a short line of less than 10 minutes. Take a seat and prepare to be entertained by an original animated short. Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is missed by so many Guests that it’s almost a secret of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Make time in your upcoming Disney vacation plans to enjoy this underrated attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It can be a great rest point between exploring Toy Story Land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the other parts of the Disney Park.

Animal Encounters: Winged Encounters – The Kingdom Takes Flight

There are plenty of animal encounters to enjoy at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Kilimanjaro Safaris, the Maharaja Jungle Trek, and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trails are animal encounters that you probably think of. But there is another animal encounter at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that most Guests miss. Winged Encounters – The Kingdom Takes Flight takes place on Discovery Island in front of the Tree of Life daily, from 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Look to the sky and see a flock of color surround the Tree of Life as six species of South American macaw fly above Disney’s Animal Kingdom and land on Discovery Island. Disney Cast Members welcome the macaws before they retake flight. Secure a spot just before the Tree of Life for the best view, and prepare for a magical experience when the birds fly away.

Discovery Island Trails

While you may be happy to admire the Tree of Life from afar, many Guests miss the opportunity to see it up close. The Discovery Island Trails in Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park guide you along picturesque pathways, through caves, and across wooden footbridges. You’ll encounter exotic animals along the way and get stunning views of the Tree of Life carvings. Enter the Discovery Island Trails alongside the entrance of It’s Tough to be a Bug! Alternatively, take a right as you pass Creature Comforts before you reach the Africa gateway. The chances are, you’ll have most of the paths to yourself when exploring the Discovery Island Trails.
