Top Experiences for Busy Days at Disney

As we get closer to the holiday season, we know that the crowds at Walt Disney World will start to increase.  We thought it would be good to share some fantastic experiences that are wonderful even during busy times.

To help you continue to have a magical time even when it gets busy, we are going to look at experiences in each of the four Disney Parks that you could use to fill in as you wait for other top attractions.

We hope that these suggestions will help you experience some additional magical attractions that maybe you wouldn’t have before.  These should be helpful during the upcoming holiday season, but can always be great options on busier days at Walt Disney World.

EPCOT

With the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, we know that EPCOT will be super popular this holiday season.  With that in mind, we have a few options to help you avoid the crowd while still enjoying all EPCOT has to offer.

Living with the Land:

One of our favorite rides in EPCOT is Living with the Land.  This slow-moving boat ride takes Guests through the gardens of EPCOT.

Guests to see firsthand how Walt Disney World’s horticulturalists use innovative ways to grow crops to help feed our planet.

As this ride continuously moves, it typically doesn’t have a long line, even on the busiest of days.

Take a cruise past the greenhouses on this gentle boat ride for a nice, relaxing experience. Living with the Land receives a holiday overlay during the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which you don’t want to miss.

Films

It might be surprising to some that there are numerous films throughout EPCOT for Guests to enjoy.  In the Land Pavilion right upstairs from Living with the Land is a newer film called Awesome Planet.

Awesome Planet is a 10-minute film that features amazing pictures from around the globe and is a wonderful way to escape the crowds.  This unique film uses wind, scents, and water to help tell the story of our “awesome planet” and why we should take care of it.  This is a beautiful film and is truly moving and one that we recommend on any day in EPCOT.

Back in the World Showcase Guests can also find a few films to enjoy.  In France, Guests can enjoy the popular Impressions de France.  Canada’s film was recently updated and is a 12-minute circle vision film.  It shows the beauty of Canada and all it has to offer.

Another World Showcase option is the American Adventure audio-animatronic stage show. Witness the history and landmarks of America in this presentation.

Each of these shows provides a great experience for busy days in EPCOT.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom there are some hidden spots that Guests can escape to during those busy times in the Park.

Trails

One of our top options is the trails located throughout the Park.  There are three main trails:  Discovery Island Trail which takes Guests around the Tree of Life.  Maharajah Jungle Trek or Gorilla Trails give Guests a fun look at some of the species that call Disney’s Animal Kingdom home.

See the Animals

As we mentioned briefly above with the trails, there are many animals that make Disney’s Animal Kingdom home.  Take time to visit fun animals like the otters or gibbons. These are fun to watch and just enjoy.

Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This Disney Park has quickly become one of the busiest of the four Disney Parks.  Unfortunately, you have to get a little creative with experiences on those busy days at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Shows

There are a few shows that are great for those busy Park days.  With large theatres that have lots of Guests and multiple show times, there are a lot of options.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along and Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage are perfect for those princess-loving fans in the group.  Both of these shows do an outstanding job bringing beloved stories to the stage.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt

Indiana Jones: Epic Stunt Spectacular will be coming back on December 19 and is a fantastic way to fill some time during a busy day.  This fun, high-energy show brings movie-making magic to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Guests can see how stunts are performed and see some of their favorite scenes recreated.

Finally, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is a good attraction for busy days. Located back by Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, many Guests don’t even know this show is there. The area outside of the attraction is part of the fun.

All of these shows provide excellent options for those busy times in the Park.

Magic Kingdom

Where Disney’s Hollywood Studios didn’t have a lot of options, Magic Kingdom has a variety of great experiences for busy days.

Country Bear Jamboree

Over in Frontierland, Guests can enjoy a fun, knee-slappin’ good time with the beloved Country Bears.  This is a 16-minute show that is full of humor and is an original and classic attraction.  It is a great way to step away from the crowd while staying in the Magic Kingdom.

Enchanted Tiki Room

Another Disney classic that is great for busy days is the Enchanted Tiki Room.  This musical show brought audio-animatronics into the Parks with groundbreaking technology that synchronized movement, audio, and visual effects.

Sing along with these exotic birds, flowers, and Tiki statues in this Disney classic.  Like Country Bear Jamboree, this show can fit a lot of people, so it is a good way to get out of the crowds and into the air conditioning.

This is just a quick look at some options during those busy days in the Parks.  We have a few other great articles on How to Disney about what to do during busy days that can also help as you plan.
