‘Stranger Things’ DemoCoaster and Upside Down Land Could Appear at Universal Studios
Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has become one of Netflix’s most recognizable and influential properties, spawning comics, novels, video games, stage plays, and soon, animated projects.
But despite its broad reach, the franchise has yet to establish a permanent presence in theme parks.
So far, its appearances have been limited to temporary installations and seasonal events, including Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights and other immersive walkthrough experiences that let fans step into Hawkins or glimpse the Upside Down.

That could change in the coming years. Universal Studios Great Britain, the resort under construction in Bedfordshire and slated to open in 2031, has not announced any attractions or themed lands, but rumors continue to circulate about possible additions that include James Bond, Jurassic World, Paddington, and The Lord of the Rings.
It’s possible that Stranger Things could emerge as a headline IP for the new park, potentially giving the series a permanent home in a theme park setting for the first time.

A dedicated Stranger Things land could combine indoor and outdoor experiences to capture the show’s signature mix of suspense, horror, and 1980s nostalgia.
Imagine a roller coaster that plunges riders directly into the Upside Down, weaving past Vecna’s lair, the Byers’ home, and Hawkins National Laboratory, while animatronic Demogorgons and atmospheric effects heighten the tension just like in the Netflix series.
Smaller walkthrough zones could allow guests to explore Hawkins, interact with recreations of familiar locations, and even encounter key characters such as Eleven, Hopper, or Steve.

With the success of immersive IP-based lands like Harry Potter and Jurassic World, there is precedent for blending thrilling rides with narrative-driven environments.
While Universal Studios GB has not confirmed any projects whatsoever, the Stranger Things franchise’s expanding universe—including the upcoming 3D animated series Tales From ’85—could provide additional creative angles for attractions.
Fans may eventually see Hawkins, the Upside Down, and their iconic characters fully realized in a park setting, bridging the gap between television and theme park storytelling.
