Hidden Area on ‘Harry Potter’ Attraction Revealed by Guest

A guest recently discovered a “secret” area on a Harry Potter attraction.

Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a must-see for fans of the beloved series. The immersive land brings the magic of J.K. Rowling’s world to life with stunning recreations of iconic locations like Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.

Guests can explore the shops filled with magical items, enjoy a butterbeer, and even try their hand at wizarding skills. The attention to detail throughout the land makes it feel like stepping directly into the film franchise, with everything from the cobblestone streets to the majestic Hogwarts Castle adding to the magic.

Among the standout attractions is the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride, which takes guests through the halls of Hogwarts, where they’ll encounter familiar characters and magical creatures, and Harry Potter and the Escape From Grinogtts.

For those looking to experience both theme park areas in one day, however, the Hogwarts Express ride is the must-ride here. The ride connects the two sections of the park: Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. Boarding the train transports visitors from one land to the other, with a journey filled with magical surprises.

We won’t spoil the entire ride for those who haven’t experienced it for themselves. However, we will say that there’s probably much more to it than you ever knew.

Recently, a guest was riding the attraction when they shared images of how each compartment can expand to make space for those requiring a wheelchair.

“Probably the best hidden ADA wheelchair accommodation is at the Hogwarts Express,” they wrote. “The last compartment of all three/six train cars has a hidden door that opens up to allow a guest to roll in and remain in their wheelchair while riding. Seats on both sides fold down and allow the hidden door to be closed while traveling.”

An image shares an enlarged compartment on the train – one that’s notably bigger than those found elsewhere on the train. The compartment expands when necessary to accommodate for wheelchairs.

As others have noted, not all guests in a wheelchair are shown to this compartment. “They’re supposed to ask ‘are you comfortable taking a few steps into the car,'” said one Reddit user. “If you say yes, then they load the wheelchair into the back and you walk on, if you say no then they put you into this cabin.”

Have you ever found yourself in the supersized cabin on the Hogwarts Express?
