Cast Member Rescues Guests on Space Mountain Amid Incident
A cast member was forced to get involved when a ride vehicle became stuck on Space Mountain last week.
In a TikTok shared by user @Emmandisney, a Disneyland cast member stepped in after they and their fellow riders ground to a halt on the usually speedy indoor roller coaster.

To get the ride back up and going, the cast member in question had to push their rocket down the track – gradually gaining speed so it could resume its usual course.
POV you get stuck on Space Mountain and they have to give you a push start,” they captioned the video.
Fortunately, the ride continued as planned thanks to the cast member’s help (and physical strength).
Despite usually taking place in complete darkness, Space Mountain is shown with the lights on in the video. While it certainly looks less magical this way, experiencing a lights-on ride has become a bucket list item for many diehard Disney fans.

One of the oldest attractions at the park, Space Mountain has operated since 1977. However, it’s faced its fair share of issues during its tenure at the park. In August 2000, nine parkgoers suffered minor injuries after a ride vehicle’s wheel was dislodged and the ride’s safety control systems caused an abrupt stop.
Three years later, the ride closed completely due to issues with the track, which had grown weak over the years. The park was forced to totally replace the track for fears that it would later experience more severe issues. It later reopened at Disneyland Park in time for its 50th anniversary in July 2005.
More recently, we’ve also seen some bizarre incidents stemming from the bad behavior of guests on the ride. In February, a parent reportedly dropped his child from the ride vehicle onto the boarding platform because he wasn’t tall enough. Last year, when the attraction was temporarily operating as the Star Wars-inspired Hyperspace Mountain, the entire ride was evacuated after a guest jumped out of his seat during a temporary breakdown and decided to force his family out after him.
