Sorry Disney, but We Always Skip These Experiences

It doesn’t matter how long you are staying at Walt Disney World, there are just some experiences that you aren’t able to get in.  Because of this, we have started to notice that there are some Disney rides, shows, or experiences that we tend to skip each trip.

Sometimes these are skipped because we just aren’t a fan of the ride.  Other times we might skip the ride because the wait is always too long, or we might skip a dining spot because we have a favorite somewhere else.

We know that Disney is always trying their best to make all experiences magical, but some are just ones that we don’t take time for during our Disney vacations.  Let’s take a look at what we skip to see if you agree or disagree with our list.

Magic Kingdom

As the most iconic Disney Park, Magic Kingdom has so much to offer Guests.  There are most rides to choose from, a variety of shows, and a handful of both quick service and table service dining options.

With all these to choose from at Magic Kingdom, there are a few that we skip each trip.

Tomorrowland Speedway- Tomorrowland

One attraction that we skip each trip is the Tomorrowland Speedway.  Although we loved this ride as a kid, our interest faded quickly as we got older and were able to drive.  There are a few reasons why we skip this ride during our Magic Kingdom day.

First of all the combination of heat, noise, and fumes cause us to get headaches.  This isn’t a good combination and when the wait time is long it can quickly become an issue.  The track has also been shortened because of Tron making the wait not as worth it.  And finally, we just don’t care for the overall attraction.  We don’t like bumping side to side in our car or being stuck behind something super slow.

Overall, we understand why little ones still love this ride, but for us, it is one that we skip.

Swiss Family Treehouse- Adventureland

Over in Adventureland, we love rushing to Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean; however, we also pass right by the Swiss Family Treehouse.  This treehouse is truly amazing with outstanding details to show how the family lived, but we still skip it.

The main reason we skip this attraction is because of all the steps.  When we have already been walking a lot, doing more steps doesn’t sound like a great adventure.  Also, because there is only one way up and one way down, it can get congested causing you to get stuck behind others.

If you have little ones, you can’t take strollers on this attraction meaning that you are carrying that little one on all those steps.  For us, we prefer to save our steps for getting to other rides.

EPCOT

We are seeing a great transformation taking place at EPCOT right now and we are loving all the new experiences.  With all those new, thrilling rides such as Remy’s Ratotoulie Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, we have a few attractions that are now skipped when we visit EPCOT.

Journey Into Imagination with Figment-World Celebration

We understand that there are huge Figment fans out there and we too love the adorable purple dino; however, his ride isn’t one we enjoy.  The overall idea and concept of the ride somewhat make sense, but the execution of it leaves us confused at the end of the ride.

There are parts of this ride that we just don’t enjoy (who wants to smell something awful?) so we prefer to use this time enjoying the World Showcase, the festivals, or just relaxing around EPCOT.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

There are a lot of things to explore at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  This Disney Park is all about nature and learning.  With that, there is one main attraction that we skip each time we visit.

It's Tough to Be a Bug

It’s Tough To Be A Bug- Discovery Island

This is one attraction that we skip because it truly terrifies us and our kids.  Guests are taught about being a bug, but when Hopper (a very LARGE grasshopper) crashes the party it becomes very intense.

The combination of bugs and darkness makes this experience one that we don’t need to revisit.  We love the movie, but this 4D show is just too much for us.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has added a lot of outstanding rides throughout the last few years.  Even with all those great rides, there still are some we don’t hit each trip.

Alien Swirling Saucers- Toy Story Land

Back in Toy Story Land, Guests have the opportunity to ride three different Toy Story-themed rides.  Out of these three, Alien Swirling Saucers is one that we skip each trip.  Although the aliens are super cute, this ride doesn’t do much for us.

Getting swirled around isn’t something that we really enjoy doing.  Because of this, we prefer to wait for Slinky Dog Dash or Toy Story Mania instead.

We love that Walt Disney World has so much to offer Guests throughout the four Disney Parks.  The only downside of having so much to do and see is that you aren’t able to get to it all.  Because of this, you end up skipping certain experiences.  As we look at our Disney trips, we noticed that these attractions are ones that we skip each trip.  We wonder if it is the same for your family or if you have different experiences that you skip.
