Parent Admits Bringing Child to Disney World To Spread Contagious Disease
A panicked Walt Disney World Resort cast member reacted quickly after discovering that a family intentionally spread infectious bodily fluids on hundreds of dollars in merchandise at a Disney Park store.
Window shopping is welcome at Disney parks. Disney cast members won’t pressure guests to spend money, even if they only want a break in the air conditioning. The low-pressure environment makes most merchandise locations the perfect place to distract Walt Disney World Resort guests of all ages.
Unfortunately, some guests aren’t considerate when spending time at Disney Park souvenir shops. Former Disney cast member and TikTok content creator Kelsey Conkling (@disneywithkels) recently re-enacted a vile encounter with a guest inside a store at Walt Disney World Resort:

The Disney cast member approached a family to ask if they needed help with anything. The mother politely explained that she was letting her daughter try on different eyewear for fun.
When the little girl removed a pair of sunglasses, the Disney cast member noticed that her eye was clearly inflamed. She asked the mother if everything was okay.
“Oh, that?” the parent replied. “Don’t worry about that. It’s just pink eye…Kids get pink eye all the time.”
Conjunctivitis is highly contagious and easily spread through surface contact. It can also cause more severe complications and infections.
The quick-thinking cast member asked the mother which sunglasses the little girl had tried on. Frustrated, the mother said she didn’t know or understand why it mattered.
“I need to either sterilize them or throw them out,” the employee explained. “Pink eye is very, very contagious, and if anyone else tries on those sunglasses, they’re most likely going to get it, too.”
By the time the Disney cast member approached, the little girl had been trying on sunglasses for 15 minutes. She contaminated hundreds of dollars in merchandise.
The incident echoes a recent viral story of a parent who knowingly brought their child with impetigo to Walt Disney World Resort, potentially infecting thousands of other guests.
If someone in your party contracts a contagious illness before your vacation, contact Walt Disney World Resort. Under certain circumstances, Guest Services cast members can reschedule vacations beyond the cancelation window.
