Rare Chance to Meet Maleficent and Syndrome at Oogie Boogie Bash 2025

Disney California Adventure’s Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is back this fall, bringing its own West Coast twist on spooky fun. While Walt Disney World in Orlando has Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, California’s version goes all-in on villains and immersive treat trails.

This separately ticketed event is known for exclusive character appearances you won’t see on a regular park day — and this year, the lineup is getting even more devilish with the arrival of Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty and Syndrome from The Incredibles.

They’ll join fan favorites like Hades (Hercules), Dr. Doofenshmirtz (Phineas and Ferb), Ernesto de la Cruz (Coco), and the bash’s host himself, Oogie Boogie (The Nightmare Before Christmas).

Maleficent Descends on Grizzly Peak

The Mistress of All Evil is making a rare, exclusive appearance at Oogie Boogie Bash — one of the only times you’ll be able to meet her in person at Disneyland Resort.

You’ll find her at the treat trail along Mountain Road in Grizzly Peak, behind the queue for Grizzly River Run. Maleficent is known for her sharp wit, commanding presence, and magical intimidation skills, and she’s highly interactive with passing guests.

If you’re dressed as Aurora, Prince Phillip, or any character from Sleeping Beauty, expect some pointed (and possibly fiery) commentary.

Syndrome Plots at Pixar Pier

Superheroes beware: Syndrome is plotting mischief at his own dedicated treat trail near the Pixar Pier Band Shell. Known for his over-the-top speeches and high-tech gadgets, he loves interacting with guests as they pass — especially those in superhero costumes.

Whether you’re cosplaying as a Super or just there for the sweets, don’t be surprised if you find yourself in the middle of one of his “genius” schemes. Like Maleficent, Syndrome is only meeting during the Bash, so this is a rare chance to face off with him.

About Oogie Boogie Bash

Running select nights from August 17 through October 31, Oogie Boogie Bash features 12 themed treat trails, immersive villain encounters, live entertainment, and the opportunity for all ages to dress in costume.

The interactivity here sets it apart — many villains will engage with you as you walk by, turning every treat stop into a mini performance.

Why This Year Is Extra Wicked

With Maleficent’s spellbinding presence and Syndrome’s chaotic energy joining the mix, 2025’s Oogie Boogie Bash promises some of the most memorable villain encounters yet.

Costumes, candy, and rare character meet-and-greets make this event a must for Disney fans — and once the Halloween season ends, these characters disappear from the park.

So, when you head to Oogie Boogie Bash this year, will you dare to face Maleficent’s magical wrath, fall into one of Syndrome’s ‘brilliant’ schemes, or try to outwit them both in one night?
