Disney Park Implements New $20 Per Person Upcharge System Starting This Week
Another set of upcharges have kicked in for the fireworks and parade at one Disney resort this week.
A magical vacation rarely comes cheap. Beyond park tickets and hotels, there are hidden costs aplenty at all theme parks – Disney or not – and it feels like more and more are coming into play by the day.

Since COVID-19, one of the most controversial upcharges has been the paid alternatives introduced to replace FastPass at Disney theme parks. While Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort have Genie+, Disneyland Paris has Premier Access, which is considerably more expensive but typically guarantees shorter lines than when booking a Lightning Line.
As of this week, however, Premier Access is not the only upcharge available for those looking to streamline their Disneyland Paris experience.
Starting March 28, guests at Disneyland Paris can pay €19 ($20.50) for a premium view of the resort’s daily parade, Disney Stars on Parade, or the nightly fireworks spectacular, Disney Dreams! (and its pre-show, Disney Electrical Sky Parade).
Anyone hoping to guarantee a good view of either show can pay for a spot in the Reserved Viewing Area via the Disneyland Paris app. This area is located near the entrance to Fantasyland – opposite Pizzeria Bella Notte – for Disney Stars on Parade, and directly in front of Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant (Sleeping Beauty Castle) for Disney Dreams!

Guests who have purchased a spot in the Reserved Viewing Area will need to arrive at the designated meeting place at least 10 minutes before the respective show begins. At this point, access will close and guests will be unable to enter the Reserved Viewing Area. They will also be ineligible for a refund or compensation.
Premium viewing spots for the fireworks were previously a perk for Annual Passholders at Disneyland Paris. However, this perk was axed when the resort switched to Disneyland Pass, causing widespread complaints from Passholders who are disgruntled at paying more for fewer benefits.
Would you pay for a better view of Disney’s parades and fireworks? Let us know in the comments!
