More Magic Coming to Magic Kingdom in 2023

With 2023 around the corner, so much magic is coming to Walt Disney World in the new year.  We have already looked at what you need to know if you are heading to Walt Disney World in 2023 HERE, but we wanted to look specifically at Magic Kingdom.

Being the iconic Park at Walt Disney World, most Guests visit Magic Kingdom at some point during their Disney vacation. Because of this, we wanted to share all the magic coming in 2023 to this iconic Walt Disney World Park.

MK Railroad

Walt Disney World Railroad

The Walt Disney World Railroad is one of the most well-known attractions at Magic Kingdom. It is the first attraction. Guests see when they arrive at Magic Kingdom.

With the start of construction on the Tron Light Cycle Run in Tomorrowland, the Walt Disney World Railroad stopped running in 2018. It has been a long time waiting for one of Walt Disney’s favorite attractions to return to Magic Kingdom.

We were thrilled when Disney announced the train would once. again be welcoming Guests all aboard in 2023. It became even more exciting when Guests were welcomed on board this week for the first time in years.

The trains now have an all-new exterior and a new track telling Guests about the Magic Kingdom. Straight from Disney, “The familiar whistle of its steam engine will be complemented by exciting new sounds and voices,” the team of Imagineers shared. “A new conductor has assumed the role, carrying on the long tradition of warm welcomes and amusing anecdotes while adding fresh commentary and story to the journey.”

Guests can now board Main Street, U.S.A., and enjoy an entire loop around Magic Kingdom. See unique areas of the Park in Adventureland, Frontierland, Storybook Circus, and even a new exciting peak at Tron.

It is great to be once again able to experience the Walt Disney World Railroad in Magic Kingdom.

Tron Lightcycle Run

Guests have anxiously awaited the opening of the new E-ticket attraction in Tomorrowland. Tron Lightcyle Run is a high-speed coaster that is coming in Spring 2023 to Magic Kingdom. We have watched Disney test Tron over the last few weeks. It makes us hopeful that this new coaster will hit the Spring 2023 goal.

Guests will climb aboard their own LIghtcyle and blast off on a high-speed adventure, reaching speeds close to 60 mph. Compete against your opponents as you pass through 8 Energy Gates as you work to secure a victory for your team.

If you can be in Magic Kingdom when Tron Lightcyle Run opens, there are a few things you will need to know. Based on how Disney has opened other popular attractions such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in May of 2022 or Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios before that, we anticipate that Tron Lightcyle Run will follow a similar process.

This means that Guests will probably be able to purchase an Individual LIghtning Lane or join a virtual queue to ride. To prevent extended, long lines, Disney is opting for these two methods to help GUests experience new E-Ticket attractions with limited wait times.

We can’t wait for Tron Lightning Cycle Run to finally open in Magic Kingdom.

Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After Returns

As part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, Magic Kingdom saw a new nighttime spectacular. Disney’s Enchantment replaced Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom on October 1, 2021. Although we have seen a few changes to the original show, such as adding an introduction featuring Walt and Roy Disney, Disney Enchantment didn’t hit as well as Disney had hoped.

Because of this, and probably other reasons, we will see the return of the beloved Happily Ever After in 2023. Disney has not announced an exact date, but we anticipate seeing a change after the 50th Anniversary Celebrations wrap up in March.

Happily Ever After featured fireworks, amazing projections, songs from some of our favorite movies, and of course, the featured song Happily Ever After with Jordan Fisher and Angie Keilhauer.

Did indicate that we might see some new films featured in the updated version of Happily Ever After when it returns to Magic Kingdom; however, the beloved song will also be returning, making many Disney fans extremely happy.

Princess Return to Cinderella’s Royal Table

Princesses will join Cinderella again in Magic Kingdom at Cinderella’s Royal Table starting on February 28. Get ready to book those reservations quickly. This reservation has always been tough to snag, and with the princesses returning, it will be a hot item again.

Snow White Dining

Disney hasn’t announced which princesses will return to Cinderella’s Royal Table. In the past, we have seen Aurora, Jasmine, Snow White, and Ariel hanging out at the castle.

We are thrilled to have this character dining experience in 2023 for all the princes and princesses who can’t wait to hug their favorite Disney princess once again.

As we head into the new year, we are thrilled with all the magical moments coming to Magic Kingdom. From old favorites such as Cinderella’s Royal Table and the Walt Disney World Railroad to new thrilling experiences waiting on the horizon with Tron Lightcyle Run, we are looking forward to all that 2023 will bring to not only Magic Kingdom but Walt Disney World.

It is always great to have new, magical experiences to look forward to on every vacation. Let’s get ready for a wonderful 2023.
