Get Ready for Christmas in Disney

We are halfway to Christmas and Walt Disney World is ready to celebrate already.  To get us all excited for the holiday season that is six months away, Disney announced a LOT of magical experiences coming this fall and winter.

Let’s take a quick look at all the Christmas news and get excited for all the magic coming this holiday season to Walt Disney World.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Returns

This is probably the biggest and most exciting news that was released.  The beloved Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is coming back to Magic Kingdom this year.  After a few years off, Disney fans are thrilled that this part is returning with all the holiday magic.

The party will be offered on select nights starting November 8th and running through December 22nd.  Pricing for this special ticketed event range from $149-$199 per person.  Below are the party dates:

  • November: 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22, 27, 29
  • December: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22

Disney released information regarding what will be returning along with the party and we are thrilled with everything that will be back once again.  Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show will be back featuring Mickey and friends as they dance and have a great time with holiday music.

Fireworks are also back with Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.  The show will include projections, fireworks, and music all of which make an amazing and not to miss experience.

Also returning will be the amazing Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.  We can’t wait to see the flying reindeer, toy soldiers, Mickey, and of course Santa Claus.

Guests will not only be able to enjoy these special experiences but will also be able to enjoy free hot cocoa and cookies throughout Magic Kingdom at select locations.  Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Mad Tea Party, and Tomorrowland Speedway will be receiving holiday overlays during the party.

This is a huge announcement and we are thrilled to have Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returning to Magic Kingdom this holiday season.  This is sure to be an extremely popular event so make sure to get those tickets early.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and the Holidays

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is the newest hot ride at Walt Disney World.  This thrilling coaster in EPCOT has quickly become a top ride experience for Guests during their Walt Disney World experience.  You can learn how you can ride this amazing ride HERE so you don’t miss out.

Along with the holiday news from Walt Disney World came the exciting news that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will receive a fun holiday change.  As part of the ride experience, Guests currently have one of the following six songs played as they ride:

  • September”
  • “Disco Inferno”
  • “Conga”
  • “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”
  • “I Ran”
  • “One Way or Another”

The selection is random making each ride experience different and fun.  To be a part of the holiday experience, this soundtrack will transition to a mix of seasonal holiday songs instead.  Disney has not announced when this transition will take place or what songs will be included, but we are excited to find out.

EPCOT Festival of the Holiday Information

Following EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival, EPCOT will quickly transition to the Festival of the Holidays.  This holiday-focused festival will start on November 25th in EPCOT.  As part of the festival, Disney has announced that the beloved and delicious cookie stroll will be back along with the holiday kitchens.

As part of the festival, Guests will once again be able to experience the moving and magical Candlelight Processional.  We look forward to seeing which amazing narrators will be coming back this year (come on Neil Patrick Harris).

This time in EPCOT is filled with holiday traditions from around the world and a truly magical time to be in the Disney Park celebrating with friends and family.

Returning Magic

As part of the big holiday announcements, Disney did take the time to let us know what magic we could expect to return during the holiday season.  The four Disney Park icons will continue to be transformed with holiday-themed displays throughout the evenings.

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the sweet Merry Menagerie of winter animals will be turning and in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests can enjoy the holiday twist when visiting For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.  Here Olaf and his friends will celebrate a variety of traditions.  The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll will also be back giving Guests the chance to enjoy the elaborate trees themed to show off Disney characters.  And over at the Disney Resorts, Guests can enjoy the gingerbread creations that will be on display.

Finally, don’t forget to enjoy some of the amazing holiday treats throughout Walt Disney World.  Disney has already started to release so of these delicious treats making it hard to wait six more months to try.  Also, don’t forget to get your shopping list made.  Disney also has given a sneak peek at some of the merchandise that Guests can expect this holiday season.  There is always something we need.
