Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Let’s start with the most popular ride at EPCOT. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a thrilling indoor coaster that takes Guests on a ride they won’t soon forget. As the most popular ride in EPCOT, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is NOT included with Genie+.

The only way to experience this fantastic ride is to purchase an Individual Lighting Lane or join a virtual queue. Keep that in mind as we break down Genie+.

Quick Overview

We have a quick overview if you aren’t 100% sure what Genie+ is. Genie+ is paid to skip the line feature found in My Disney Experience. Starting at midnight, Guests can purchase Genie+ for the day. With this purchase, Guests will have access to Lightning Lanes throughout the four Disney Parks.

At 7:00 a.m., Guests can begin booking their first Genie+ selection. Guests choose a ride they want to experience and are given a specific one-hour return window. During this window, Guests visit the ride and experience a lower wait time.

Throughout the day, Guests can continue to book more Genie+ return times, saving time in line.

Is Genie+ Needed?

EPCOT is a tough park when it comes to Genie+. If you visit during lower-crowd days, you probably won’t need Genie+ with an excellent touring plan. On the other hand, when EPCOT is busy, Genie+ can save hours in line.

Consider your goals for your day in EPCOT before purchasing Genie+. If you are focusing on the festival, you might be able to skip out on Genie+ for the day. For those that want to experience all the attractions that EPCOT has to offer, then Genie+ is a good investment.

Go in with a plan so you know if Genie+ is suitable for your EPCOT day.

Top Priorities: Book These First

At EPCOT, rides are the top priority when it comes to Genie+. These are attractions that typically see their Genie+ return post go quickly. These three rides are Frozen Ever After in Norway, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in France, and Test Track in World Discovery.

Consider which of these three might be the best first choice for your Genie+ selection.

Both Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure have no height requirement. This means the whole family can enjoy these two rides together. If you are entering near the International Gateway, you could plan to rope-drop Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and book Frozen Ever After as your first Genie+ selection.

If you are traveling with older kids that like thrills, Test Track might be your best option for Genie+. Remember that a single-rider option exists if your group is willing to split up. This would give you more flexibility with your Genie+ selection. Test track does have a slow loading process and does have to shut down due to weather often. This means that the wait times get extremely long throughout the day. Having Genie+ skip that long wait can be enormous during a day at EPCOT.

Round Two: Second-Tier Priorities

Once you determine what your top priority will be, two main rides at EPCOT fall into level two priorities. These attractions have Genie+ return times available longer into the afternoon or evening.

For your second selection, we recommend either Soarin’ or Mission Space. Soarin remains extremely popular, but with the ability to hold many people, wait times remain steady throughout the day. Once you have experienced Soarin’, choose Mission Space as your following Genie+ selection if you are brave and willing. Remember, Genie+ is only available once, so choose your side carefully.

Final Round

Once you have experienced the top two tiers of rides at EPCOT, our next suggestion for Genie+ is EPCOT is to think about location. EPCOT is a huge Park, and you want to try to schedule your Genie+ rides so you aren’t rushing from one part to another.

Use the My Disney Experience app to navigate where rides are located as you make your Genie+ selections.

The remaining options in EPCOT for Genie+ are Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival, Journey into Imagination with Figment, Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Turtle Talk with Crush.

Genie+ remains available throughout most of the day for these attractions at EPCOT. After riding Soarin’ consider working your way through the Land Pavilion to the Sea Pavilion and Spaceship Earth. This will prevent a lot of walking back and forth between areas.

Although wait times for these experiences typically remain low, if you have already purchased Genie+, why not use it?

EPCOT is a tricky Park to use Genie+ at during your vacation. Think about how you want to spend your day visiting and what rides are a priority for your group. Use that to help guide your decision on if you need or want to purchase Genie+ for your day in EPCOT.

If you do choose to purchase Genie+, make sure that you prioritize the rides to get the most out of your purchase. Doing this will allow you to experience the most with the lowest daily wait times. Genie+ can be a massive help in Disney, but ensuring you know how to use it comes first.
