Guests Flee Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Amid Worsening Conditions
Walt Disney World Resort is no stranger to unpredictable Florida weather, and a sudden storm in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently left guests scrambling for cover. Guests navigating the outdoor marketplace and attractions sought shelter in whatever dry spots they could find.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, known for its stunningly detailed theming, is home to two flagship attractions—Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. It’s also home to Oga’s Cantina, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, walk-up snack windows, merchandise locations, and a marketplace that offers little protection from the elements.
When the storm hit, guests in the area found themselves stuck under small archways and doorways waiting out the rain. TikTok user @mikemolinari shared a video from the storm, showing park visitors huddled under an archway while rain poured down around them.

“When it starts pouring out of nowhere at Hollywood Studios and you are stuck under an archway for protection,” the user wrote in their post. “The struggle is real…Nothing like a random Florida storm.”
Across the walkway, others sought refuge inside merchandise locations, while a few braved the storm, opting to walk through the downpour.
Disney Parks fans quickly chimed in with their own experiences and advice for dealing with rain at the parks.
“That is why you look at the weather the day before and book a dining reservation during the midday storm,” one commenter, @negghostrider20, advised.
“I always pack for rain,” said @dadnarock. “Never believe the weather forcast.”
Some Walt Disney World Resort guests, however, embrace the rainy moments.
“That happened to us last time,” @cottagesweetscelebration recalled. “We ran over to Toy Story Land and splashed around in the rain. We always say a rainy day at Disney is better than a regular day at home.”
While sudden storms can be a challenge, they’re far from unusual at Walt Disney World. Central Florida’s weather is notoriously unpredictable, with rain showers often popping up in the afternoon. Guests planning a visit are encouraged to check the forecast and come prepared with ponchos, umbrellas, or waterproof gear.
