As such, the Disney family house was at risk of demolition until it was purchased in 2013 and restored to its 1901 state. Today, it is a museum officially named The Walt Disney Birthplace, funded by a grant from The Walt Disney Company Foundation and a crowdfunding campaign.

Although many people consider Walt’s childhood home in Missouri to have a much more profound impact on the legend, others have pushed back on that notion. In addition, Roy Disney lived in the home for 13 years of his life, and he, too, had a significant impact on the company.
