An Exciting New Experience Is Coming to Walt Disney World Later This Year
Now that June is here, we’re Halfway to the Holidays! While Christmas may seem far way, The Walt Disney Company has begun the celebrations. Amidst the confirmation that favorite Christmas celebrations will return to Walt Disney World, a new experience is coming too. Let’s look at all of the Holiday fun to experience in Lake Buena Vista this year.
Disney Jollywood Nights
For the first time ever, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will host a ticketed event during the Holiday season. Previously, the Disney Park was known to celebrate Christmas with The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. However, they lit up the Streets of America for the final time in 2015. Nowadays, the Disney Park has featured the ‘Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!’ nighttime spectacular, festive projections on The Hollywood Tower Hotel, and Toy Story Land characters dressed in their festive attire, during the Holiday season. Until now!
The Walt Disney Company has confirmed that an all-new ticketed event will take place in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Christmastime. Disney Jollywood Nights allows Guests to celebrate the holidays in style. The new nighttime Holiday party will feature modern beats mixed with classic holiday sounds, crafted Christmas cocktails, and decadent dishes to taste. Festive fun will be available throughout Disney’s Hollywood Studios for you to experience.
You can enjoy a Latin Street Fair on Commissary Lane. Hollywood Boulevard will become your dance floor as a DJ spins mixes of your favorite holiday tunes and modern sounds. See Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy host a live holiday special at Theater of Stars, and sing-along to Christmas classics in the Hyperion Theater. The Hollywood Brown Derby will become a jazz lounge every evening of Disney Jollywood Nights. You can also join a soiree in The Hollywood Tower Hotel courtyard. The evening will close with a special performance of ‘Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!’.
As if that wasn’t enough fun, your favorite rides in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be open during the evening, for you to experience with minimal lines. Attractions that are set to be open include Slinky Dog Dash, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock N’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Additionally, favorite Disney characters will feature in festive costumes. Guests can meet with Mickey Mouse and friends in Animation Courtyard. Meanwhile, Phineus, Ferb, and Powerline Max will meet Guests at Echo Lake, and Edna Mode will be at Pixar Place.
Disney Jollywood Nights is set to take place on ten evenings in November and December. The limited-capacity events will take place on November 11, 18, 20, 27 and 29, and December 4, 6, 16, 18 and 20. Each event will take place between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Disney Jollywood Nights tickets will be available to purchase from June 29 for Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests, and July 6 for all other Guests. Ticket prices will range from $159 to $179 per person.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Disney’s Hollywood Studios isn’t the only Disney Park to host a Christmas event this year. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will return to Magic Kingdom Park on November 9, and will take place on select dates through to December 22. The ticketed event features plenty of festive fun in the Disney Park. You can enjoy Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks light up the sky over Cinderella Castle. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration occupies the Castle stage, while Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade makes its way down Main Street U.S.A. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party begins at 7 p.m., however Guests can enter Magic Kingdom Park from 4 p.m with their party ticket.
Similar to Disney Jollywood Nights, tickets are available to purchase from June 29 for Walt Disney World Resort Guests, where as all other Guests can purchase their tickets from July 6. Tickets are $159 to $199 per person.
A new addition will feature in Magic Kingdom Park this year though. Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and the Snowgies will bring a brand new Frozen (2013) inspired entertainment experience to the Disney Park. The good news is that all Guests will get to witness the magical experience. See Cinderella Castle illuminated in a whole new way every evening during the festive season.
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
The International Festival of the Holidays will return to EPCOT later this year. Beginning November 24, World Showcase will see the return of the Holiday Kitchens and will come alive with spirited storytellers, performers and joyful singers. Additionally, the Guest-favorite Candlelight Processional will return to the America Gardens Theater at the American Adventure. The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will be available for you to experience until December 30.
Other Festive Fun
If you love animals, you’ll want to enjoy the Merry Menagerie at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Christmas. As well as the glowing holiday decor that will feature in the Disney Park, artisan-scultped puppets will be guided around Discovery Island by Cast Members. You’ll enjoy magical interactions like never before.
You don’t have to enter a Disney theme park to participate in the festivities. Disney Springs will feature the Christmas Tree Stroll once more. You can expect brilliantly-themed Christmas trees to feature throughout Disney Springs. You’ll be able to pick up a map and find them all during the Holidays. Don’t miss the snowfall, or should we say snoapfall, every evening in Town Center too!
Christmas isn’t complete without seeing Santa, especially if you have little ones. Santa Claus will be making special appearances in all four Disney Parks this year. You can even see him in Disney Springs and a Disney water park. Santa really is coming to Walt Disney World!
Make sure you don’t miss out on all of the festive fun in the Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season. Now is an excellent time to start considering your Christmas plans for November and December.
