In August, Disneyland is set to experience a wave of ride and attraction closures that will impact guest experiences. With several fan-favorite attractions winding down operations, many visitors may feel the pinch as they plan their trips.
Notable closures include beloved rides such as the Haunted Mansion and Radiator Springs Racers. The closures not only affect the rides themselves but also influence the overall atmosphere and excitement in the park, as certain themed experiences become temporarily unavailable.
Key Attractions Facing Refurbishment
Star Tours, the iconic simulator ride based on the “Star Wars” universe, has been closed for refurbishment since June 30. There have been no specific updates regarding its reopening, but it is expected to remain offline for most, if not all, of August. For fans of the franchise, this might create disappointment, as the ride offers a unique and immersive experience that attracts both seasoned “Star Wars” followers and new fans alike.
The Haunted Mansion, arguably one of Disneyland’s most beloved rides, is scheduled for refurbishment from August 9 through August 21. While many guests anticipate the eerie thrills and ghostly encounters that this classic attraction offers, the closure will mean that they must seek alternative entertainment options during their visits. The Haunted Mansion is often considered a must-see for Disney fans, so its temporary hiatus will certainly be felt.
In addition to Star Tours and the Haunted Mansion, Disneyland will see other attractions close, including the Casey Jr. Circus Train and the Storybook Land Canal Boats. The train ride, which provides charming views of the park, closed on July 28 and won’t reopen until after August. Storybook Land Canal Boats, another delightful experience, has been unavailable since July 21. These smaller attractions have their own dedicated fan bases, and their absence will remind guests to prioritize their favorite experiences while at the park.
The Incredicoaster, a thrill ride that draws in adrenaline-seeking guests, has already closed for refurbishment and will remain shut until after August 15. This ride is a highlight for many, and its absence during such a busy month may lead thrill-seekers to seek alternative rides or experiences, possibly leading to longer wait times at remaining attractions.
Another significant closure taking place is that of Radiator Springs Racers, also set to shut down on August 18. This ride, inspired by the “Cars” franchise, features a blend of both thrilling racing and a family-friendly atmosphere. The closure is sure to impact those who had been looking forward to the adventure and breathtaking visuals. Guests might find themselves adapting other plans, prioritizing the attractions that are still available.
Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration
Amidst these closures, Disneyland is proudly celebrating its 70th anniversary. This milestone brings a series of special events over the upcoming year, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the jubilation that accompanies such a momentous occasion. The celebration, which commenced in July, is not just a mark of history but a chance for all visitors to connect to the legacy of Disney and the joy it brings.
As a part of the anniversary celebration, Disneyland is rolling out limited-time merchandise and themed offers that can enhance the guest experience. Whether it be collectible items or themed food options, visitors have a chance to take home a piece of the celebration, creating lasting memories of their trip. Special events and experiences curated for guests will further underscore the excitement throughout the park.
