Should You Marry a Disney Adult? Fans Debate

The internet is once again embroiled in a debate over Disney Adults, this time focusing on whether marrying one is a good idea. A viral Reddit post has reignited the discussion, with some users warning against tying the knot with someone who’s a little too into Mickey Mouse.
The Reddit Post That Sparked It All

Disney Adults have long been a target of social media ridicule. They’re often mocked online for their earnest love for Disney parks and movies, with some becoming memes for emotional moments at the parks. But this month, a Reddit post shared by X (formerly Twitter) user @thechosenberg added a new layer to the conversation: Disney Adults and relationships.

The post, from a husband asking if he was wrong for skipping a vacation, highlighted a growing strain in his marriage. According to the Redditor, he and his wife Jess usually take one or two trips a year. However, Jess “only wants to go to Disney World.”
Their Disney trips have been extensive—nine visits to Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. When the Redditor suggested a change of scenery with a Hawaiian getaway, Jess reluctantly agreed.

There was just one catch: Jess booked their stay at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, O’ahu. Frustrated, the husband decided to cancel the trip altogether.
Social Media Reacts
The Reddit post quickly gained traction online, with fans divided over who was in the right. Many commenters criticized Jess for her refusal to compromise.

“Being an adult in a relationship also means compromising and not just taking trips only you want to take, especially when he’s already gone with you nine times,” said @Bogey_Zero.

Others expressed shock at the idea of exclusively visiting the Disney parks.
“Why can’t they just pick every other vacation destination?” @cocacolaaddictt asked. “Go to Disneyworld once, go where he wants next, Disney again, what he wants, etc. set up a similar budget so it’s fair and every time they’ve saved up the budget they can vacation.”

Still, some sided with Jess. Some argued that Aulani, while Disney-branded, is far from a theme park experience.
“I stayed down the road from the Aulani hotel and went there for breakfast,” @EileenKelly wrote. “It is a lovely hotel on the beach, and while there are Disney-oriented things to do, there are also tons of ‘regular’ things you would do on a Hawaiian vacation.”

“I mean the disney resort in Hawaii seems like a good compromise,” @cldbrwszn replied. “You can still explore the island.”
