Genie+

If you haven’t been to Walt Disney World in a while, you will want to make sure you are aware of Genie+.  In October 2021, Disney introduced Disney Genie to My Disney Experience.  This new feature is a free option that helps Guests navigate the Disney Parks.

Along with this new free feature is Genie+.  This is a paid feature that Guests can add to their Walt Disney World Park Tickets.  The cost of this is $15/person/day.

Starting in June, Guests will need to add Genie+ each morning of their trip.  When doing so, they will have access to the Lightning Lanes for the day as they travel throughout the Disney Parks.  Starting at 7 am, Guests are able to book a return time for a Lightning Lane of their choice.

If you choose to add Genie+ to your reservation, you will want to make sure you read up on what it is and how to get the most out of it while in the Parks.  We have a lot of posts on How to Disney to help you navigate Genie+.

We highly recommend that you pay attention to when you are able to purchase Genie+.  Disney is always changing and adjusting so you will want to make sure you are aware of the policies when you head down.  As we said earlier, starting on June 8th Guests will only be able to purchase this feature the day of.

Disney has also said there will be a limited amount available so we are interested in seeing what this means starting June 8th.

As we get ready for booking our 2023 vacations, make sure you know all about Genie+ and if you are going to want to use it during your trip.

Get Those Park Reservations

Another policy that has changed for many since their last Walt Disney World vacation revolves around Park Pass Reservations.

Guests not only need valid Park admission to enter the Disney Parks but they also need to have a Park Pass Reservation.

Once Guests have purchased their tickets, they can then log into their My Disney Experience account and make their Theme Park Reservations.  Guests choose which of the four Theme Parks they want to visit each day.

As the Park Pass Reservations do book up, it is important that Guests make these as soon as they can.  This will give them the best chance to get into the Disney Park of their choice.

It seems like Disney will continue to ask Guests to make Park Pass Reservations into 2023 so keep this in mind so you make these as soon as possible.

Airport Transportation

As you start thinking about heading down to Walt Disney World in 2023, you will want to think about how you are going to get to your Walt Disney World Resort.

Magical Express was discontinued at the end of 2021.  Guests now need to add the cost of transportation to their vacation budget.  There are a variety of different options from buses to private transfers.  We have a variety of options HERE on How to Disney.

Think about what options would work the best for your family during their 2023 vacation.

Early Entry

Disney recently announced that early entry for those Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort will continue in 2023.  When planning your 2023 Disney vacation, you will want to keep this option in mind.

Early entry allows you to get into the Disney Parks a half hour before the Theme Park opens to regular Guests.  This is a fantastic way to get ahead of the crowds and experience some lower wait times in the Parks.

Consider adding an early entry into your touring plans for 2023 so you can experience this extended time in the Parks.

New Experiences Are Coming

Before heading down in 2023, make sure to check in on what new rides, shows, and experiences have been added.

We are hopeful that the Walt Disney World Railroad will open back up soon.  We can’t wait to once again ride around Magic Kingdom.

Tron Lightcycle Run will hopefully be opened in 2023, if not sooner.  Make sure you pay attention to when it opens.  This will impact wait times and crowds in Magic Kingdom.  You also want to make sure you know how to ride.  Will they be using Lightning Lanes or Virtual Queues?

We also are looking forward to Roundup Rodeo BBQ opening up in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  This new dining location is scheduled to come to Toy Story Land.  Guests will enjoy some outstanding entrees in Andy’s Backyard.

Shows such as Fantastic will be returning soon as will the new Finding Nemo show Finding Nemo The Big Blue and Beyond.

2023 will be a great time to visit Walt Disney World to see and experience new shows and rides.

As we all prepare with excitement for June 8th so we can book our 2023 Walt Disney World vacation, it is important to be aware of these new policies and opportunities.  Get excited and get ready for another magical year in Walt Disney World.
