Magic Coming to Walt Disney World This May

As we head into a new month, there are a lot of new, magical experiences coming to Walt Disney World. From new treats to a brand new ride, May is set up to be a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World.
Get to the magic before the summer months and crowds hit by heading down in May. Let’s look at what we can look forward to this May at Walt Disney World.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
One of the biggest and most anticipated experiences coming to Walt Disney World has been announced for May 27th.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is the first Marvel ride coming to Walt Disney World and Guests are thrilled to be able to see what it will include. We have gotten a few sneak peeks of different aspects of the ride such as the soundtrack that will play throughout the ride and Cast Member costumes.
This will be the first Omnicoaster in Walt Disney World moving Guests so they will always be facing the action. A reverse launch will also be a first in Walt Disney World making Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind an exciting new experience coming to EPCOT in May.
Annual Passholder previews will be starting soon and we can’t wait to get an insider look at what Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has to offer.

May 4th
Coming quickly this month will be the first “holiday” to celebrate on Star Wars Day. If you are a big Star Wars fan, there is no better place to be on May 4th than in Batuu in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Star Wars fans will gather in Disney’s Hollywood Studio to enjoy a day celebrating their favorite franchise. Batuu is likely to be extremely busy on this day, so make sure if you are going to be in Disney’s Hollywood Studios you head in with a plan.
This would be a good day to take advantage of Genie+ for riding Milleniumun Falcon: Smuggler’s Run or purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane in order to get a spot for Rise of the Resistance.
Enjoy walking around Batuu and enjoying the food at Ronto Rosters or Docking Bay 7. Try out the blue or green milk, Kat Saka’s Kettle a unique blend of sweet and spicy popcorn, or see if you can find a spot at Oga’s Catena for a delicious drink as DJ R-3X spins the toons.
May 4th will definitely be exciting in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Mother’s Day
Don’t forget that Mother’s Day is May 8th this year. You can celebrate mom together with amazing brunches at Disney Springs. Wine Bar George, Art Smith Homecomin’, and Boathouse are all amazing options for brunch.
Look for specialty treats just for mom during this day as well. We anticipate a delicious cupcake and other snacks to pop up this first week in May to celebrate mothers.
For something fun, consider getting a button as well celebrate mom in the Disney Parks.

Tickets on Sale
A big announcement last week made May even more exciting for fans of Halloween. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will be coming back this year and tickets will be on sale this month.
Disney announced that the beloved and extremely popular Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will be back on select dates starting in August and running through October. The party will run from 7:00 pm to midnight giving Guests a good chunk of time to experience everything that the party will have to offer.
The Boo to You Halloween Parade will be back with Disney characters in their Halloween best along with Disney villains and the amazing Haunted Mansion graveyard diggers.
Guests will be able to join the Sanderson Sisters as they take the stage for the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular show. The Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington, will be back as he once again is ready to host Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular. This nighttime spectacular features fireworks, music, projections, and Disney characters.
Overlays will be coming to specific rides once again such as Space Mountain, Mad Tea Patry, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor.
If you are a Halloween fan, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a celebration just for you. Mark your calendars for May 18th when the tickets go on sale to the general public or May 12th if you already have a Walt Disney World Resort stay booked.

Memorial Day
The month will wrap up with Memorial Day Weekend which will probably mean an increase in crowds. As kids wrap up the school year and families look to start summer, many will be heading to Walt Disney World at the end of the month.
If you are heading down during this time, make sure that you check out our suggestions on how to combat the crowds. Knowing how to do this will help you have a magical time even though the crowds might be larger.

Connections Cafe & Eatery
We are thrilled that the new quick-service dining location, Connections Cafe & Eatery, surprised us by opening early. With the closing of Electric Umbrella, this was a much-needed addition to the front of EPCOT.
Offering a variety of options, Guests are loving all the fresh options provided to choose from.
It looks like May is going to be a busy month for Walt Disney World fans. Get those calendars marked so you are ready for all the magic coming this month.
