Disney’s Generous $500,000 Donation to Support Education

The major highlight of the celebration was Disney’s $500,000 donation, which will be distributed to several organizations dedicated to education and youth development. The donation will benefit The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, The School District of Osceola County, Lake County Schools Foundation, Polk County Schools Foundation, and Seminole County Schools Foundation. Additionally, four key organizations focused on youth development will also receive funding: Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Orlando Philharmonic, ELEVATE Orlando, and A Gift for Teaching.

In addition to the generous donation, several Central Florida teachers were surprised with a visit from Lilo & Stitch’s Stitch. Stitch made a special appearance at Hamilton Elementary, Deerwood Elementary, College Park Middle, Tavares Middle, and North Lakeland Elementary schools. These surprise visits added a magical touch to the end of the school year, bringing joy to both teachers and students alike.

Free Theme Park Tickets for Teachers

As part of the celebrations, Disney also provided each teacher at the schools with free Walt Disney World park tickets, allowing them to enjoy the resort’s magical offerings as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year.

Disney Imagination Campus also hosted an exclusive event for the educators and administrators from the participating school districts. Teachers and administrators from each school district had the chance to take inspiration from the living laboratory at EPCOT and bring it back to their classrooms. This special day at EPCOT allowed educators to explore innovative exhibits and gather new ideas to inspire their students in the upcoming school year.
