Father-Son Duo Caught Stealing Donations From Disneyland Wishing Well

A father-son duo was discovered stealing money from a wishing well near Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park. Disneyland Resort is known for collecting donations from wells, water rides, and fountains for various Southern California and national charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation. A Disney Park guest described the surreal, noting how the family displayed brazen behavior in broad daylight.

Security cast members quickly responded to reports from concerned guests who observed the theft in progress. The father and son had allegedly been continuously retrieving bills floating in the Snow White Grotto wishing well before they were apprehended by park security. Redditor u/SeijiSan77 described what they witnessed:

“I saw a dad holding his kid upside down over the wishing well while lowering his kid down into it while the kid was grabbing the dollar bills that were floating on top of the water. The mom was cheering them on. When security arrived the boy was lifted out of the wishing well with both hands full of wet money. When the dad saw the security officer the dad had a look like he died inside.”

The Disney Park guest didn’t overhear the family’s conversation with Disneyland Resort security. However, they witnessed security cast members escort the father, mother, and son out of Disneyland Park.

“From the looks of their conversation and later the walk towards Town Square I assumed that security kicked them out,” the Disney Park guest wrote.

The wishing well at Disneyland Park serves a far more profound purpose than mere superstition. Guests are encouraged to toss coins into the well, with the intention that their contributions will help bring joy to children with severe health issues. The funds collected are primarily allocated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children battling life-threatening conditions. These donations are vital, supporting initiatives that uplift the spirits of families during difficult times.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation works tirelessly to turn dreams into reality, representing not just the joyous moments of wish fulfillment but also the emotional respite provided to families navigating challenging circumstances. The organization embodies hope and resilience, creating lasting memories that can help families cope with the often harsh realities of medical struggles.
