Disney World Is Transforming Multiple Parks Just Days Before July Begins
July is almost here, and that means Walt Disney World is about to enter one of its busiest stretches of the summer. While many families are counting down the days until their vacation begins, Disney is preparing for several changes that could impact everything from fireworks and dining to attractions and park navigation.

If you’re visiting in early July, it’s worth taking a few minutes to see what’s changing before you arrive. Some updates are temporary, while others will remain in place for months. Either way, knowing about them ahead of time can make planning much easier.
Holiday Fireworks Return for Independence Day
One of the biggest changes arrives during the Fourth of July celebration.
For three nights, Magic Kingdom will temporarily swap Happily Ever After for Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky. The patriotic nighttime spectacular returns from July 3 through July 5 and brings fireworks, projections, and music dedicated to Independence Day.

EPCOT will continue presenting Luminous: The Symphony of Us, but guests staying until the end of the show will also be treated to Heartbeat of Freedom. The patriotic finale follows Luminous and gives visitors an extra reason to remain in the park after dark.
Because these entertainment offerings only happen for a limited time, expect both parks to be especially busy during the evenings.
Time Is Running Out to Ride Carousel of Progress
Another notable change arrives just after the holiday weekend.
Carousel of Progress is scheduled to close on July 6 for a major refurbishment expected to last until sometime in 2027. The attraction has remained a Tomorrowland favorite for decades, making the final days before the closure especially appealing for longtime Disney fans.

If this classic attraction has been on your list, now is the time to experience it before construction begins.
Deluxe Resort Guests Keep Their Extra Perk
Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts and participating hotels will continue enjoying Extended Evening Hours throughout July.
The benefit gives eligible visitors additional time inside select parks after regular closing, allowing them to experience attractions with lower wait times than they might find during the day.

If you’re staying at one of the qualifying resorts, building your schedule around those evenings could help you accomplish much more with less time spent standing in line.
Disney Springs Has Something New
There’s also a brand-new reason to stop by Disney Springs this summer.
LEVEL99 has officially opened inside the former NBA Experience building on the West Side. The interactive venue offers dozens of challenge rooms that test teamwork, problem-solving, and physical skills.

Since the attraction debuts just before July begins, plenty of curious visitors are expected to check it out throughout the summer vacation season.
Refurbishments Continue Around the Resort
Not every project begins in July, but several existing refurbishments will continue throughout the month.
Big Top Souvenirs remains closed in Magic Kingdom while work continues inside Storybook Circus. La Signature in EPCOT’s France Pavilion is also temporarily unavailable, while Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace remains closed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Meanwhile, Grand Floridian Cafe is expected to close later in July for refurbishment. During the project, brunch service will move to Citricos, giving guests another option while work is underway.
Construction Isn’t Slowing Down
Major expansion projects also continue across Walt Disney World.
Construction remains visible in Frontierland as Disney transforms the former Rivers of America into the upcoming Piston Peak National Park area inspired by Cars (2006).
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, work continues on Tropical Americas, which will eventually introduce new experiences inspired by Encanto (2021) and Indiana Jones.

While these additions are exciting for Disney’s future, guests visiting this summer should expect construction walls and occasional changes to walking paths.
July promises plenty of excitement, but it also brings several changes worth keeping in mind. Taking a few minutes to review what’s new before leaving home can help you avoid surprises and spend more time enjoying your vacation instead of adjusting plans after you arrive.
