The Disney Springs Experience Families Often Miss But Shouldn’t

A visit to Walt Disney World Resort is typically filled with glorious theme park plans for Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But, if you’re looking for a shopping, dining, and entertainment dream destination, you’ll want to work a Disney Springs visit into the plans. Most Disney fans think of Disney Springs as an ideal place for adults to relax and unwind with popular experiences such as incredible lounges like Enzo’s Hideaway or delicious sips from Dockside Margaritas. Disney Springs also features several family-friendly experiences that are not to be missed! Our family enjoys experiences such as bowling at Splitsville, taking flight with Aerophile, riding the nostalgic carousel, meeting the Coca-Cola Polar Bear, or catching a movie with dinner at AMC DINE-IN Disney Springs 24. But one family-fun experience is often missed! While it’s no secret that T-REX Restaurant is a hot spot for families, it’s what’s INSIDE that is often forgotten. This is a free activity, but there are purchase options if families want a dig kit. But this isn’t the only must-do for dinosaur lovers… The BEST hidden gem within T-REX is the Build-A-Dino sponsored by Build-A-Bear Workshop, located in the heart of Disney Springs Marketplace. Our family recently experienced the unique activity of building a Dino, and the kids loved every minute of it! The process is simple, really. The family gets to pick a dinosaur. The Cast Members fill the dinosaur and put a sound and heart inside of it. The sound can be a simple “rawr” or the voice of a family member. The Cast Member has the family hold the heart and make a wish for an extra sweet experience. Then, it’s time to pick out an outfit! The wall of outfits matches up perfectly with whatever style you want your Dino to have, including fancy or comfy clothes, sports outfits, and even shoes, wigs, sunglasses, and more accessories. Once the outfit is picked, the family gets to name their dinosaur and create a birth certificate for their little friend to print out. The total cost for the experience is currently a $55 bundle, which includes the stuffed dinosaur, sound, heart, scent, outfit, and birth certificate. After our Dinosaurs were made, they (“Stuffy” and “George”) went all around Disney with us… an experience the kids will remember forever. Remember that anyone can go in and fossil dig and build a dinosaur. No dining at T REX Restaurant is required.
