Influencers Roll Out Disruptive, Invasive Behavior on Disney Rides

For some guests, the magic of the Disney parks has been overshadowed by disruptive behavior from influencers. Recent reports from Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort highlight how live streamers and social media creators are altering rides with invasive actions, sparking widespread frustration among Disney Parks fans.

A discussion began when Redditor u/double_stomach3875 posted screenshots of a TikTok influencer, @soulful.sarahtonin, live streaming dark rides at Disneyland Resort. To enhance her visibility on the dimly lit attractions, the influencer illuminated her face with an external lighting device, such as a ring light.

“NO EXTERNAL LIGHTING!! You’re ruining the ride experience!!!” the Disney Park guest wrote. “Seriously MANY FAMILIES have complained about RING LIGHTS on streamers phones during rides! ‘Can’t you tell the streamers to turn those ring lights off!!!’ WHY does she have to have SUCH A BRIGHT LIGHT!!! Ugh.”

The post sparked outrage among other Disney Parks fans, who shared their frustration with similar encounters. Dozens of commenters described how bright lights and loud conversations with live chats disrupt the immersive experience that Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort attractions are designed to deliver.

Advocating for Change

While influencers continue to push boundaries to engage their audiences, Disney Park guests are left wondering how to address the problem. Disruptive ride behavior, such as using external lighting or live streaming with loud commentary, is already prohibited by Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort policies. However, enforcement can be challenging.

Guests are encouraged to report disruptive behavior to a Disney cast member immediately after exiting the attraction. In some cases, cast members may allow guests to re-experience the ride to compensate for the disruption.

Additionally, guests can visit Guest Services to advocate for stricter policies. Past guest feedback has led to significant changes, such as banning selfie sticks in Disney Parks.

Enjoying the Magic Responsibly

Disney Parks have long enforced guidelines to ensure every visitor has an enjoyable experience. Guests are reminded to avoid external lighting, flash photography, and other intrusive behaviors on Disney rides. Staying quiet during rides and following cast member instructions can help preserve the immersive magic for everyone.
