Disney Is Going to Look Different in 2024- And We Are Thrilled

One thing that is certain about Walt Disney World is that it will continually change. We love that the Disney Company is constantly looking at ways to bring new and exciting experiences to Guests. As we look ahead to 2024 at Walt Disney World, we are thrilled about all the new experiences that will be coming.

What can we expect in 2024 at Walt Disney World? Let’s look at some of the significant changes coming and why we are thrilled for them.

EPCOT’s Transformation

You are right if you feel EPCOT has been under construction for years. It seems like this Disney Park has been getting worked on for a few years; however, 2024 might be the big reveal.

It was beyond exciting to have Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind open bringing a new thrill attraction to EPCOT. Guests have loved this indoor coaster that sends them on a mission with their favorite Guardians of the Galaxy. Along with this new coaster opening, we are thrilled with the opening of Connection Cafe & Eatery. This new quick service location was needed at EPCOT and provided an excellent option for Guests looking for a quick meal.

We have also recently seen significant progress on Journey of Water Inspired by Moana. We have seen the water features in the past week as Cast Members experience the new walk-through attraction based on this beloved film. Scheduled to open later in 2023, we are thrilled to know that when visiting in 2024, we will enjoy this new attraction featuring the giant Te Fiti, water features, and a throwback to old EPCOT, where edutainment was a focus.

Dreamer’s Point will also be completed by the end of 2023. World Celebration will be home to Dreamer’s Point, including an all-new Walt Disney statue. The highly anticipated figure, “Walt the Dreamer, ” will bring a striking new area to EPCOT.

We are thrilled that EPCOT will return to the Park we love with new magical additions in 2024. Visiting EPCOT without all the construction walls and seeing it again in full glory will be wonderful.

Disney Dining Plans Return

2024 will look significantly different as the Disney Dining Plans are returning. Guests have anxiously been waiting for this feature to return to Disney, and we are thrilled that 2024 is the year we will see them again.

Many Guests traveling to Walt Disney World enjoy having the dining plans added to their package. It allows the trip to be more all-inclusive, as meals and snacks are prepaid.

Two options will be returning in 2024. The Disney Quick Service Dining Plan will allow Guests to choose from various quick service locations and snacks throughout the Walt Disney World Resorts and Parks.

The other plan that will be returning is the Disney Dining Plan. This will allow Guests to choose a combination of both quick service and table service locations throughout their vacation.

We are thrilled that this feature will once again be available to Guests.

No Theme Park Reservations

We are thrilled that 2024 will look differently at Walt Disney World because Guests will no longer need to book Theme Park Reservations for their vacation. Starting on January 9, 2024, Guests who have purchased date-based tickets (part of a Disney Package) will not be required to make Theme Park Reservations.

Although most of us plan which Disney Park we visit daily, it will be nice not to have this additional step when planning a Disney vacation in 2024. By not having to make Theme Park Reservations, Guests will be able to have more flexibility with their daily plans. If it happens to be rainy one day, they can adjust to skip Disney’s Animal Kingdom or hop on the bus toward Magic Kingdom instead.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Work is well underway on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Frontierland. Scheduled to open at the end of 2024, we are thrilled to see what this new adventure will store for us. The story will pick up with Tiana after the movie takes place. We will be with her on her next adventure as she works to grow her business- Tiana’s Foods.

The ride’s highlight will take place during Mardi Gras season, where Tiana and her friends celebrate the people of New Orleans in a big way.

We recently saw glimpses of Tiana’s Foods water tower peeking behind the construction walls. This water tower is the centerpiece of the attraction and is topped with Princess Tiana’s tiara.

We are thrilled to see so much progress made on this transformation of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and can’t wait for 2024 when we can take our first ride.

World Showcase

New Evening Show at EPCOT

Finally, we look forward to a new nighttime show at EPCOT as 2024 begins. Still unnamed, the new show will debut by the end of 2023. The show will include a new, original score with selections from beloved Disney movies to create a show that reminds us we are “more alike than different.”

We aren’t a fan of EPCOT Forever. Harmonious wasn’t the best due to the eye sores in the middle of the beautiful water. We are hopeful that by 2024 we will have a new, beautiful nighttime show at EPCOT to enjoy.

2024 will bring new and exciting experiences to Guests at Walt Disney World. We can’t wait to experience it all.
