Breaking Down Disney’s Hollywood Studios Quick Service

Disney’s Hollywood Studios used to be known as the Disney Park with the worst food options; however, over the years they have started to up their food choices.  Since eating is a big part of a Walt Disney World vacation, we wanted to break down the quick survival choices in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Quick service options are those dining locations where you can mobile order your food on the My Disney Experience app throughout the day and pick it up within your selected window.  Reservations aren’t needed, but during busy times of the year we do recommend making your quick survival mobile order early on.

We are going to give you the pros and cons of some of the top quick service locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios so you can determine where you want to eat while visiting.

Woody’s Lunch Box- Toy Story Land

Back in Andy’s backyard, Guests can enjoy a meal at Woody’s Lunch Box.  This location offers breakfast as well as lunch and supper along with a few snack options.

Pros:  This is where you can find some delicious comfort food such as tomato soup and grilled cheese.  Their most popular item might be the potato barrels (tater tots) that you can get with chili and other great toppings.

Woody’s Lunch Box is known for the lunch box tarts (fancy and delicious pop tarts) that come in a variety of flavors.

We love the food options here at Woody’s Lunch Box and it is a top choice when visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Con:  Because Woody’s Lunch Box is a popular choice it can be difficult to snap a return time when it comes to mobile ordering.  Knowing this, make sure that you log on to the app early in the day to place your lunch or supper orders.

The other issues with this dining option is that it is all outside.  This means that once you get your comfort food you will be eating out in the sunshine.  This isn’t really enjoyable or pleasant when it comes to those summer months.

Overall, Woody’s Lunch Box is a good option for food if you plan ahead and don’t mind the sunshine.

ABC Commissary

ABC Commissary- Commissary Lane

A location in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that has really come around is ABC Commissary.  This dining location has really updated its menu and now offers some excellent options when it comes to lunch and dinner.

Pro:  Indoor seating and air condition- do we need to say anything else?  A huge advantage of this dining location is that it offers a large seating area that is indoors.  Although this might not seem like a big deal, it is huge during the hot and humid summer months.

ABC Commissary also offers a unique menu that breaks away from what we consider typically theme park food.  You can find a variety of options such as shrimp tacos and a highly recommended buffalo chicken grilled cheese sandwich.

Check-out the menu on the app to see all your options.  Since it isn’t as busy, the mobile ordering windows seem to stick around longer which is nice if you forget to order early on in the day from Woody’s Lunch Box or Ronto Roasters.

Con:  Since the menu is unique, it might not be the best for picky eaters.  Little ones that prefer Disney chicken nuggets might not find something on the menu.

We are glad that Disney has taken time to improve the menu here as it is quickly climbing to the top option in Disney’s Hollywood Studios when it comes to quick service options.

Ronto

Ronto Roster- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Back in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge one of the dining options is Ronto Rosters.  Guests can enjoy both breakfast and lunch; however, we often see this location close early in the day.

Pro:  Ronto wraps are delicious no matter what time of day you get them.  The morning option with egg, pork sausage, cheese and a delicious peppercorn sauce all in a pita bread is a fantastic start to the morning.

The lunch ronto wrap removes the egg and adds roasted pork as well as a tangy slaw.  Both are outstanding so get your mobile order in early.

Con:  Because this location is super popular, getting a return time when it comes to mobile ordering can be difficult.  If you are wanting to try out a wrap, make sure you place your mobile order early on.

This menu is super small so if you have family members that won’t want a ronto wrap this might not be the best option for a meal.

Backlot Express

Backlot Express- Echo Lake

Hiding back past Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (make sure you see it) is Backlot Express.  This is a large dining area that is open for lunch and supper.

Pros:  Because this area is so big there is always tons of seating both inside and outside depending on your preference.  Since it is bigger, the mobile ordering doesn’t fill up as fast as Woody’s Lunch Box or Ronto Roasters so this might be a good back up plan.

If you have picky eaters or stick to the basics such as burgers and fries, this is the location for those options.

Con:   Even though there are a lot of seats here, not all seats are located inside.  Even though most are covered from the sun, it can be warm if you end up in these seats.  Sometimes during busy times, the food can suffer as they try to get it out quickly.

Docking Bay 7

Docking Bay 7 Food Cargo- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

The other option when visiting Batuu is Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.  This location offers travelers both lunch and supper options.

Pro:  It is nice that Docking Bay 7 is opened later providing an option in the evenings in Batuu.  The food options are unique, giving guests a different option than burgers and nuggets.  For supper, you can find the beloved ronto wrap!

Con:  The food options here are different which might be difficult for those with picky eaters.  The sizing of the entrees can be lacking as well so keep that in mind when ordering.

When visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios these are your top quick service locations you will find throughout the Disney Park.  We hope that breaking down the pros and cons for each of them will help you determine where you want to eat when visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios during your Disney vacation.
