An Overview of Disney World's 8 Deluxe Resort Hotels

Wilderness Lodge

5. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Like the Grand Floridian, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge too captures a nostalgic turn of the 20th century essence in the heart of the Magic Kingdom Resort Area. But while the previous one conveys a refined, intricately crafted exquisiteness, this Deluxe resort basks in the pristine yet untamed natural beauty and splendor of the great American Northwest. Fashioned and furnished after the early lodges put up by the National Park Service during its first explorative years westward, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has been delivering up a lush bounty of uniquely naturalistic yet still civilized and ultimately modern experiences to its guests since first opening back in May of 1994. The resort’s proximity to the Magic Kingdom makes for a convenient destination while also offering up a peaceful, secluded ambience of untouched wild wonder.

While the variety of different room distinctions all encompass that same bucolic beauty of the rugged American spirit, each one is also supplied with all those up-to-date amenities and modern conveniences Disney is known to furnish into all their resort properties. And the many amenities to be enjoyed on the grounds also add to the bountiful thrills to be had all around. Take a dip in one of two pools—the Copper Creek Springs Pool, with hot and cold whirlpool spas and featuring a 67-foot waterslide, or the zero-entry Boulder Ridge Cove Pool. Other resort-wide endeavors to take to include paved trails to be explored by jogging, hiking or bike rental, motorized boat rentals, arcade games, movies under the stars, campfire activities, and more.

You probably wouldn’t expect to find such delectable dining out in the real wilderness, but this is Disney after all, so you know you can expect the best of the best. In fact, one of Walt Disney World Resort’s very best signature dining experiences can be had right onsite at Artist Point. Open daily for dinner, guests come here to enjoy a fine dining experience unlike any other, with delightful farm-to-fork specialties inspired by the traditions of the Pacific Northwest and a stellar award-winning wine list to boot. The overall artistic atmosphere entices guests with unparalleled panoramic views of surrounding Bay Lake and Copper Creek Falls—a perfect pairing to any dining experience. In addition to this dining designation, guests will discover a host of other options available to them as well. One family-fun favorite is Whispering Canyon, an all-you-can-eat offering open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And despite its name, it is one of the most boisterous dining experiences you can expect to find onsite, and by extension, throughout all of Disney World. Other favorites include Roaring Fork, Geyser Point Bar & Grill, and several others.
