So You Haven’t Visited Walt Disney World At Easter? Here’s All The Fun You’re Missing Out On

There are so many excellent times of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. Each season brings new experiences for Guests to enjoy. In particular, The Walt Disney Company is known to celebrate Halloween and Christmas in style. Do you have a favorite time of the year to take a Disney vacation? Us, we adore Easter in the Disney Parks.

While visiting at Easter means you will need to endure Spring break crowds, these are manageable if you aren’t experiencing Walt Disney World for the first time. Spring is also a beautiful time to visit because of the warm weather without the humidity that central Florida is known for. Of course, Spring also brings an April shower or two. However, that’s nothing you can’t manage if you are prepared.

Another reason we love to visit the Walt Disney World Resort at Easter is the plenty of fun to be had, exclusive to the time of year. If you have yet to visit Lake Buena Vista in Spring, here is all you are missing out on!

Easter Eggs

If you know The Walt Disney Company, you’ll see that they go above and beyond with everything, even with Easter Eggs. Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at Easter time will allow you to see Easter Eggs as you’ve never seen before. The Disney Chefs create true works of art that are then displayed in a selection of the Disney Resort hotels in the lead-up to Easter. If you wish to see each Easter egg display, you will need to make plans in your Disney vacation to stop by the following Disney hotels:

The Grand Cottage

Since 2022, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has had a new addition to the lobby of the Disney Resort. The Grand Cottage opens daily through March and April, selling Spring and Easter treats. We recommend stopping by the Disney Resort hotel to purchase some unique sweet treats to take home with you. They’ll make a perfect snack when the Disney blues have set in.

Surprise Disney Characters

You don’t have to visit the Disney Parks to see Disney characters. On Easter Sunday, Disney characters don their best outfits and meet with Guests at the Disney Resort hotels. The character visiting each Disney hotel will be a surprise until the morning of Easter Sunday. It’s a reason to spend time away from the Disney Parks in the morning. Check your Resort activities calendar for up-to-date information on the Easter plans when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at this special time of year.

Mr & Mrs Easter Bunny

If you’ve ever wanted to meet the Easter Bunny, taking a Disney vacation at Easter will grant your wish. During the week leading up to Easter, Mr & Mrs Easter Bunny meet Guests in Magic Kingdom Park. Their location may vary from year to year. However, during 2023, they can be found under the gazebo by Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. Guests who visit them will receive a unique postcard signed by the bunnies.

Egg Hunts & Scavenger Hunts

The Disney Resort hotels host plenty of activities for you to enjoy on Easter Sunday. In particular, egg hunts, scavenger hunts, and candy scrambles are fun experiences for all Guests to enjoy. During the afternoon, pool parties take place at the main pool areas at each Disney hotel. You can also expect Movies under the Stars that suit the time of year; Winnie The Pooh movies are usually shown around Easter time.

Limited-Edition Snacks

The Walt Disney Company is known for its limited-edition snacks that feature around Walt Disney World throughout the year. Easter is no exception. Spring snacks include specialty cupcakes, egg-themed snacks, Easter soft-serve, Spring sangria, and margaritas. Many of the Springtime snacks can be found in the Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs. If you like carrot cake, Easter is a beautiful time to enjoy Disney snacks!

If you plan on visiting a little earlier than Easter, you may wish to pick up some Easter treats for your family back home. The Disney Resort hotels sell Easter baskets and hampers in the lead-up to Easter. The Ganachery at Disney Springs is also an excellent place to pick up unique Easter gifts. Our favorite is the Easter Pinata or Chocolate Surprise Bunny they sell.

EPCOT Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt

Make plans to spend some time in EPCOT around Easter time. The Disney Park hosts the Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt. The egg hunt takes place around World Showcase. To participate, you must purchase a map from select merchandise locations in EPCOT theme park. These include Disney Traders and World Traveler near International Gateway. As you find an egg, place the corresponding sticker in the position on the map. Upon completion, return to one of the stores to collect an eggstra special prize! The Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt coincides with the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. You can search for eggs while admiring the beautiful Disney character topiaries found throughout World Celebration and World Showcase.

Brunch

Select Disney restaurants host a special brunch over the Easter weekend. While the restaurant hosting can vary yearly, Steakhouse 71 will host a special Easter brunch in 2023. Advance dining reservations are available now if you visit the Walt Disney World Resort this weekend.

So what are you waiting for? We recommend planning an Easter Disney vacation next year so that you can enjoy all of the unique experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort.
