After Months of Closure, Three Iconic Disney Rides Are Finally Reopening

If you’ve been to Disney World recently, you may have noticed that several attractions have been temporarily closed for refurbishments. While these closures can be a little disappointing, the good news is that Disney is constantly working to improve its rides and experiences. Even better? Three fan-favorite attractions are set to return this month!
Let’s take a look at what’s coming back and when you’ll be able to enjoy them again.
The Bat Exhibit at Maharajah Jungle Trek Returns
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Maharajah Jungle Trek is one of the most fascinating experiences in the park. This walking trail lets guests explore beautiful themed environments while spotting animals like tigers and exotic birds. One section of the trek, the bat exhibit, was temporarily closed for maintenance back on February 17, 2025.
Now, the wait is nearly over! Disney has announced that the exhibit will be reopening in early March, meaning guests will soon be able to watch the majestic flying foxes once again. While the rest of the Maharajah Jungle Trek remained open, this particular section has been missed by animal lovers eager to see the bats in action.
Kali River Rapids Is Making a Splash
Also in Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids—one of Disney’s most thrilling water rides—has been closed since January 6 for its annual refurbishment. If you’ve ever ridden this attraction, you know that it’s one of the best ways to cool off on a hot Florida day, but that also means it typically undergoes maintenance during the colder months.

Disney has confirmed that the attraction is set to reopen on March 14, just in time for the warming temperatures of spring. Be prepared to get soaked once again as you navigate the roaring rapids of the fictional Chakranadi River!
Gran Fiesta Tour Returns to EPCOT
Over at EPCOT, Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros has been unavailable since January 6 as part of a multi-month refurbishment. This charming boat ride inside the Mexico Pavilion is a must-visit for many guests, offering a relaxing journey featuring Donald Duck, Panchito, and José Carioca.

The attraction is officially scheduled to reopen on March 15, meaning EPCOT visitors will soon be able to hop back on board and enjoy the vibrant sights and sounds of this fan-favorite ride.
What Else Is Closed at Disney World?
While these three attractions are set to return, there are still plenty of ongoing refurbishments at Walt Disney World. Here are a few key closures to be aware of:
- The Hall of Presidents (Magic Kingdom) – Closed since January 20, 2025, with an expected reopening later in the year.
- Astro Orbiter (Magic Kingdom) – Shut down for a major refurbishment since January 13 and set to return in summer 2025.
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Magic Kingdom) – This fan-favorite coaster is undergoing a long refurbishment and won’t be back until 2026.
- Test Track (EPCOT) – This popular ride closed for reimagining on June 17, 2024, and is expected to return in late summer 2025.

While closures can be frustrating, they’re all part of Disney’s ongoing efforts to improve the parks and keep attractions running smoothly. The return of these three attractions—Maharajah Jungle Trek’s bat exhibit, Kali River Rapids, and Gran Fiesta Tour—is a welcome change for guests visiting in March.
