After 11 September Dates, Disney World Adds First Reservation-Free Day of October

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders just received a little more flexibility for their October park plans.

Disney has officially added the first Good to Go Day of the month, giving eligible Passholders an opportunity to visit any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks without making a theme park reservation beforehand.

The newly added date is Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

For Passholders who live nearby or enjoy making spontaneous trips to Walt Disney World, that designation can make planning considerably easier. Instead of checking reservation availability before heading out, they can simply choose a park and go, provided their Annual Pass is valid for that date.

And based on what happened in September, October 6 might not be the only date Passholders eventually receive.

October 6 Becomes a Good to Go Day

Disney’s first Good to Go Day for October arrives on October 6.

Eligible Annual Passholders won’t need a theme park reservation to enter Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom that day.

Normal Annual Pass restrictions still apply. That includes applicable blockout dates and capacity limitations.

The designation doesn’t promise smaller crowds or easier access to attractions. Instead, it removes one piece of the planning process for Annual Passholders.

That’s especially helpful for Passholders who don’t always know days or weeks ahead of time when they’ll visit.

A free Tuesday afternoon could suddenly become a trip to EPCOT. Someone could decide that morning to spend the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Others could head to Magic Kingdom without first worrying about whether they remembered to secure a reservation.

Earlier October Dates Work Differently

October 1 through October 5 were not included in the first batch of October Good to Go dates.

That means the normal Annual Passholder reservation rules apply.

Passholders generally need reservations when entering a theme park before 2 p.m. unless Disney has designated the date as Good to Go. After 2 p.m., Passholders can generally enter without a reservation.

There is an important exception involving Magic Kingdom.

Passholders still need a reservation to enter Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays, even after 2 p.m.

October 6 eliminates that extra planning requirement for the entire day.

Passholders can arrive earlier and potentially spend a full day inside the parks without first using one of their available park reservations.

September Had Plenty of Good to Go Days

The biggest question is whether October 6 will remain the month’s only Good to Go Day.

Disney’s recent history suggests Passholders should continue checking.

September ultimately had 11 Good to Go Days: September 2, 3, 8, 10, 14, 15, 16, 23, 24, 28, and 29.

August had six, while July offered 11.

Disney can add Good to Go Days periodically, so a date that currently requires a reservation could receive the designation later.

That makes the calendar especially useful for Passholders with flexible schedules.

Rather than assuming a reservation will be necessary several weeks from now, it may be worth checking again as the date approaches.

What Happens to Existing Reservations?

Some Passholders may have already secured a reservation for October 6 before Disney designated it as a Good to Go Day.

They don’t need to cancel it manually.

When Disney turns a date into a Good to Go Day, existing Passholder reservations for that date are automatically removed from the reservation requirement.

Guests can still see the plans inside My Disney Experience, but the reservation won’t count toward the maximum number of reservations they’re allowed to hold.

That frees up another reservation slot without requiring Passholders to do anything themselves.

More October Dates May Follow

For now, October 6 is the date Annual Passholders need to know.

It’s the first Good to Go Day of October 2026, and it gives eligible Passholders another opportunity to make a Walt Disney World visit with less advance planning.

But it may only be the beginning.

Disney added numerous Good to Go Days throughout the summer and September, sometimes giving Passholders several reservation-free dates within a single month.

There is no guarantee October will follow the same pattern.

Still, Passholders planning additional visits shouldn’t assume October 6 will remain the month’s only option.

More dates could be added, giving Annual Passholders even more opportunities to skip the reservation step and make their next Walt Disney World visit a little more spontaneous.
