When packing for Walt Disney World, I used to think I had to fill one (or two) of everything. Once I realized I was going to Walt Disney World, not a deserted island, I started to pack less. Knowing that Disney has stores and items can be delivered to Walt Disney World Resorts makes packing much less stressful.
Even though it can be easy to get items at your Walt Disney World Resort, there are still a few items that you should purchase ahead of time. Doing this will save you time, money, and frustration while on your Disney vacation.
We hope sharing these five items prepares you for your Walt Disney World trip.
5. Portable Charger
Technology has become increasingly essential for Walt Disney World vacations in the past few years. My Disney Experience, the official Disney app, allows Guests to see wait times, enter their Disney Resort hotel rooms, discover dining locations, and access Disney Genie.
Because Guests will need access to My Disney Experience, a portable charger is essential before arriving at a Disney Park. Even though Disney does provide Fuel Rods throughout the Parks and at some Disney Resorts, they can be hard to find and are more expensive.
Instead, consider purchasing a portable charge (or two or three) from Amazon before heading down. Not only will you find ones that fit your style and need more, but they are also cheaper. Having them ahead of time will allow you to have them while traveling, which can also be a huge help.
We highly recommend getting those portable chargers ready before heading to Walt Disney World, so you don’t have to worry about having a dead phone in the middle of Magic Kingdom.
4. Snacks and Water Bottle
Even though you can find snacks around every corner at Disney, you can also bring in your own. It doesn’t matter if you are traveling with big or little kids (or all adults); having snacks with you can make a big difference in avoiding meltdowns.
Having snacks from home can also save you some money during your vacation. It is also lovely to toss some snacks into your Disney bag, so if someone needs a snack while in line, you have something to help out.
Along with snacks, consider having your refillable water bottle. This will save money in the Parks but also help keep you hydrated while in lines or on Disney transportation. Bring your water bottle to refill throughout the day at quick service or stations around the Park.
3. Items for the Weather
We will cheat on this one and bunch a few essential items together. No matter when you go to Walt Disney World, we highly recommend rain gear. Weather changes quickly at Disney, so even if the weather app says there is no rain, this could easily change before you arrive.
You will want rain jackets, ponchos, and umbrellas for rain. These few items can make those pop-up rain storms much easier to navigate.
Also, make sure that you toss in items to help battle the heat and humidity. Bring a portable fan, a cooling towel, and even hydration packs to add to your water. These items can make a huge difference when you are battling the heat of the summer months.
Pack some layers if you are heading down in the fall or winter months. There are evenings in Walt Disney World that get cold, and you might need a coat, hat, mittens, and even scarves.
Ensure you have items to help you battle the weather so it doesn’t slow down in Walt Disney World.
It might seem strange to suggest bringing entertainment to Walt Disney World but consider having a few items for the long waits. Coming prepared with a few things in your suitcase can make a difference.
Bubbles are a big hit at Walt Disney World, but the fantastic bubble wands only have so much. Come prepared to restock with bubbles from the dollar stores in your area. This will keep the magic going without costing you lots of money.
Having glow bracelets or necklaces to hand out during evening performances can be a lot of fun. These are fun for kids to play with and wear during the show and are cheap back home.
We also enjoy bringing small toys. These are great to pull out of the bag when things take longer than anticipated.
Our final critical to bring with you to Walt Disney World is medicine. Although getting treatment at Walt Disney World has become more accessible thanks to delivery services, having over-the-counter medication already packed is a lot less stressful.
Consider what medicine you might need while in Walt Disney World and have it packed for the trip. Motion sickness, Pepto, allergy medicine, and items such as Advil and Tylenol can be extremely helpful to have on hand.
No one wants to feel bad while in Walt Disney World; having medicine easily accessible can be helpful.
As you prepare for your Walt Disney World vacation, purchase these five critical items before your trip. By having these items packed, you can save time and money while at Walt Disney World.
It can take much work to narrow down what you need to bring to Walt Disney World. Ensure you have these five items, and will be one step ahead of the game when you arrive.
