We Are So Excited For Our 2022 Walt Disney World Vacation- See Why

As we prepare for our 2022 Walt Disney World vacation, we are so excited for all the magical experiences that are awaiting us.

We thought it would be fun to share why we are excited for our 2022 Walt Disney World vacation so you too could get excited if you have a vacation planned, or maybe convince you that you should plan a vacation this year to Walt Disney World.

Celebrate 50 Years

On October 1st, 2021, Walt Disney World celebrated 50 years.  This is a huge celebration, but don’t be sad if you weren’t there as this celebration is scheduled to run for a whole 18 months.

This means that if you are traveling to Walt Disney World in 2022, you will be able to celebrate Disney’s 50th Anniversary.

There are so many different ways to celebrate and we can’t wait to be able to do so during our trip.

We are excited to see the castle in the Magic Kingdom with the new colors and sparkle.  Finding some special treats and looking for the Fab 50th Golden Statues in the four Theme Parks are all part of the celebration that we are looking forward to in 2022.

We are glad that Walt Disney World extended the celebration so more of us can experience it  during our vacations.

New Rides

People are always surprised that we love going back to Walt Disney World, but there is always something new to do each and every trip.

In 2022, we can’t wait to try out some new highly anticipated rides.  Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened with the 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2021, but many Guests haven’t had the chance to take a ride yet.

Guests are shrunk down to the size of Remy and they race through the kitchen on a trackless ride system that has Guests guessing where their adventure will take them.

Disney has also announced that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be opening in summer 2022.

We can’t wait to experience this new coaster that will feature the first ever backwards launch as well as an omnicoaster that will allow the ride vehicles to rotate 360 degrees keeping the Guests in the action all the time,

We aren’t sure if Tron Lightcycle Run will open in 2022 in Magic Kingdom, but we are hopeful that this thrill coaster could be another new ride for us to try out in 2022.

It is so great that Walt Disney World is constantly adding new rides for Guests to experience.

Disney Genie

One of the newest opportunities that we are looking forward to using in Walt Disney World in 2022 is Disney Genie.

This free planning app will help Guests plan their day and navigate a Disney Park by providing a personal itinerary based on Guests selections.

We will be looking to add Genie+ on some days so we can get a better feel for how this feature can help us navigate the Parks with less waits.

Finally, we are interested in purchasing a few Individual Attraction Selections that will allow us to experience poupar attractions such as Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Avatar Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom with little wait.

There is still so much to learn about these new features so we are excited to learn more in 2022.

Delicious Dining

Another thing we are super excited about then it comes to our 2022 trip to Walt Disney World is the new, delicious dining options.

Finally, Space 220 opened in EPCOT giving Guests an out of this world dining experience.  We can’t wait to board the elevator and be taken to space where we can enjoy an outstanding meal.

Over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we are looking forward to trying out Steakhouse 71.  This new restaurant replaced The Wave, a hidden gem for those wanting to have a great meal outside of Magic Kingdom.

Steakhouse 71 isn’t a secret as it opened and quickly became one of the top dining locations in Walt Disney World.

Guests are raving about the historical decorations, amazing drinks and delicious food options.

We can’t wait to try these two dining locations out when we visit Walt Disney World in 2022.

New Nighttime Shows

In 2021 we missed having nighttime shows in the Disney Parks and we are so happy that they have returned.

We can’t wait to see Disney Enchantment in Magic Kingdom.  This new show is a combination of projections, music, fireworks and a lot of magic and we can’t wait to see the show fill up the night sky in Magic Kingdom.

Over at EPCOT, we are looking forward to seeing Harmonious fill the World Showcase Lagoon with projections, water features, music and fireworks.

Nighttime shows truly are a magical way to end the evening in a Disney Park.

More Entertainment

2022 will bring back more entertainment that we are very excited to see once again.

Festival of Fantasy the afternoon parade in Magic Kingdom as well as Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire the new 50th castle show are both coming in 2022.

Having an afternoon parade back in the Magic Kingdom makes us extremely happy.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios saw Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular return in December and we have been told that Fantasmic, the magical evening nighttime show, will be returning in 2022.

Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue & Beyond will be a reimagine show that will take parts of the beloved original musical and combine it with a new story that focuses on Dory.

We are so excited to have entertainment returning to Walt Disney World because it is a big part of what makes Walt Disney World magical.

2022 is going to be an amazing year in Walt Disney World and we are so excited for our vacation.  We hope that this helps get you excited for your upcoming trip as well.
