Two Disney World Theme Park Locations Evacuated All Guests
Before the parks closed for the night on July 24, guests at two of Walt Disney World’s best-known resort hotels found their evenings interrupted after emergency evacuations were carried out at both Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

According to Kenny the Pirate, emergency alarms prompted evacuations at both Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort at around 8:00 p.m. on July 24, 2026. While the two incidents occurred on the same evening, the outlet reported they appeared to stem from separate fire alarm activations.
Situated alongside Crescent Lake, the neighboring deluxe resorts are connected by a shared waterfront location just steps from EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance and a Friendship Boat ride from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Although the resorts share amenities such as Stormalong Bay, which recently reopened following refurbishment, each hotel operates independently.
As reported by Kenny the Pirate, guests and cast members at both properties were directed outside while emergency procedures were carried out. One family dining at Ale & Compass Restaurant inside Disney’s Yacht Club Resort told the outlet they were required to leave in the middle of their meal. Once the all-clear was given and they returned, the restaurant reportedly covered the cost of their dinner.

Fire alarm testing is a routine part of operations across Walt Disney World Resort, with advance notices typically displayed when scheduled testing is planned. However, Kenny the Pirate noted there was no indication that either evacuation on July 24 had been announced beforehand, suggesting these were unplanned alarm activations rather than routine testing.
At the time of writing, Disney has not confirmed what caused either alarm. There have also been no reports of a fire or any injuries connected to the evacuations, indicating the response was precautionary.
The incident also highlighted Disney’s established emergency procedures. Across Walt Disney World Resort, cast members follow the company’s “Five Keys” philosophy: Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency. Those principles place guest and cast member safety above all else, shaping how emergencies are handled throughout the resort.

While being asked to evacuate a hotel is never part of a guest’s holiday plans, the response appears to have unfolded as intended. After both resorts were cleared and determined to be safe, normal operations resumed, allowing guests to return to their rooms and continue their stays.
