Disney Guests Trapped on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure After Abrupt Ride Termination

Disney’s newest attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, promises guests a thrilling journey through the magic of the New Orleans Bayou. But for some Walt Disney World Resort visitors, that adventure came to an abrupt halt when the Splash Mountain retheme unexpectedly shut down, leaving them stranded for over 30 minutes.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure debuted in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park this past June, replacing the beloved Splash Mountain. While the ride has been a hit with many Disney Parks fans, it hasn’t been without its challenges. During its initial opening weeks, the attraction experienced operational difficulties, with several Annual Passholder and cast member previews canceled at the last minute. Though the ride’s performance has improved in recent months, occasional breakdowns still disrupt operations.

The latest incident occurred when TikTok user @miikeeyxx and other guests were trapped on the attraction after it unexpectedly stopped mid-ride.

In a video shared by @miikeeyxx, Disney cast members are seen working to evacuate guests stranded in the heat of the Florida sun. Cast members carefully dragged the ride’s logs closer to the exit platform using specialized metal devices, helping guests climb out safely. Guests were then escorted through backstage areas to re-enter Magic Kingdom Park.

For some Disney Parks fans, experiencing an in-show exit or evacuation is a dream. However, @miikeeyxx did not enjoy the experience and shared their frustration online.

“Getting evacuated was not fun,” they wrote.

While the abrupt termination may have been inconvenient, Walt Disney World Resort took steps to compensate affected guests.

“Luckily they gave out [Lightning Lane] passes,” the guest added.

Disneyland’s Bayou Struggles

Across the country at Disneyland Resort, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has faced its own challenges. Premiering in November, the California version of the attraction has struggled to meet demand during the busy holiday season. Guests have shared videos of animatronics malfunctioning multiple times, sparking discussions about the ride’s maintenance.
