We have a lot of these posts here at How to Disney as well. It is important to know these basics when it comes to planning a trip to Disney and we are happy to help you all do so successfully. This post is different though.

In this post, we are going to dive into some secret tips that not everyone shares, but these can be extremely helpful when visiting Walt Disney World. Get ready for some super secret Walt Disney World tips and tricks.

Crowds at Disney

Head to the Left

When traveling to Walt Disney World, you need to prepare for lines. You will wait for rides, shows, attractions, and even food. As you are waiting, pay attention to what is going on around you. If there is more than one counter or more than one touchpoint open, head to the left.

A lot of time crowds tend to go to the right or to the lines that are right in front of them. Save some time in line by heading in the opposite direction of the crowd. Pay attention to what Cast Members are saying as well. They will often be directing Guests to shorter lines, but often Guests don’t pay attention. Take advantage of these shorter lines when it comes to getting food, and snacks, and entering the Parks.

Refreshing is Your Friend

A Walt Disney World tip that many might not be aware of is when it comes to Genie+ and My Disney Experience. When looking for Genie+ reservations, mobile order times, or even those hard to to get dining reservations- keep refreshing the app. This means doing a “hard” pull down from the top of your screen.

A lot of times if you spend a few moments refreshing, you will see different options appear. This can be extremely useful when using Genie+ and looking to modify a time or a ride selection. Once you have selected a Genie+ ride, you can then take time to refresh to see if a better time or even a different ride opens up.

Refreshing takes some time, but it is a great way to find options you might not have had originally when you started looking.

Chaffing Happens

We want you to be prepared so it is important to us to share this fact- chaffing happens. The heat, humidity, and constant walking create a perfect combination for chaffing to happen. Be prepared for this by bringing along a chafing stick that you can apply and reapply throughout the day.

This might not be something you typically think about when packing, but you will be grateful you have it with you.

Prescriptions Can Be Delivered

If you happen to get sick in Walt Disney World, know that getting your prescriptions is easier than you might think.

Services can actually deliver to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel as well as right to a Disney Park.

This is a service that many don’t know about but can be extremely helpful in a pinch.  If you do find yourself needing medicine during your vacation and can still be in the Parks, you can keep enjoying the magic while your medicine is dropped off at a Disney World Park.

Motion Sickness Happens at Disney

As you plan your days in the Parks, you might not think that Disney rides can cause motion sickness. Unfortunately for some, there are a handful of rides throughout Disney Parks that can lead to motion sickness.

Head to the Parks prepared with motion sickness medicine. Rides such a Mission: Space, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and even the tea cups can cause people to not feel 10o%. Having medicine alone can help them recover faster.

Think about what other medicine you might need as well. The combination of different foods, rides, heat and walking can cause the body to be confused. Having some basic over-the-counter medicine can be helpful.

No one wants to feel gross while on vacation. Having basic over-the-counter medicine can help improve those issues faster.

First Aid Stations/Baby Care Centers

In each of the four Disney Parks, Disney has Baby Care centers. These are quiet areas that provide a great place for families to change diapers, nurse, or allow kids to take some time away from the noise of the Parks.

These areas also have basic over-the-counter items as well as a Cast Member that can provide basic assistance if help is needed. No matter how old or young your kids are, make sure to use these areas as needed.

My Disney Experience App

My Disney Experience Can Find Bathrooms

We all know that Disney’s official app My Disney Experience can provide you with wait times, allow you to mobile order, and use Geine+. Did you know that this app can also find bathrooms for you?

This can be extremely helpful if you are unfamiliar with the area and are needing to quickly find a bathroom along the way. By clicking on the location icon on the app, you can then choose bathrooms from the drop-down menu to quickly see where they are located at.

My Disney Experience does a great job helping you navigate your way around the Park. It can help prevent frustration if you aren’t sure where things are in the Parks.

Those are some quick, super secret tips to help you have a magical time on your Walt Disney World vacation. Check back at How to Disney for more helpful tips and tricks for your upcoming vacation.
