Despite The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026) becoming the lowest-grossing live-action Star Wars film at the worldwide box office, Lucasfilm has no plans to slow down when it comes to Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu.
Although the Disney+ series appears to have ended after three seasons, the beloved duo continue to anchor one of Star Wars’ biggest multimedia franchises, appearing across comics, books, LEGO projects, tabletop games, and more.
Now, Lucasfilm has officially announced yet another chapter in their ongoing story.

As revealed during San Diego Comic-Con 2026, per CBR.com, writer Delilah S. Dawson and illustrator Alessandro Ranaldi are teaming up once again following Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu: Danger in the Dark for The Mandalorian and Grogu: Nightmare on Navarro, a brand-new graphic novel set between The Mandalorian Season 3 and this year’s theatrical release.
Per CBR.com, the story follows Din Djarin and Grogu into the lava tubes beneath Nevarro, where they’re tasked with neutralizing a dangerous pirate ship hidden underground. The volcanic setting immediately recalls Mustafar, the site of the legendary duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005).
The announcement continues Lucasfilm’s strategy of keeping the pair active beyond film and television, allowing fans to follow their adventures regardless of what happens with the live-action series.
Meanwhile, audiences can now watch The Mandalorian & Grogu at home.
The official synopsis for the film reads:
“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu.”
Whether The Mandalorian eventually returns to Disney+ remains to be seen, but Lucasfilm is making sure its most popular duo continue to have plenty of adventures in a galaxy far, far away.
