If you plan a trip to Walt Disney World, you don’t want the journey to be ruined by making terrible mistakes. We will share some of the top mistakes that Guests make when heading to Walt Disney World. Ensure you know these so you don’t make the same mistake during your trip.
Forgetting Park Pass Reservations
After booking your Walt Disney World Resort tickets, make your Park Pass Reservations. Guests need to have not only a valid theme Park ticket but also a Park Pass reservation.
Park pass reservations are when Guests select one of the four Disney Parks to visit daily. As these are limited, Guests must do these as soon as possible. This will ensure that you can enter the Disney Park of your choice.
If you don’t make these ahead of time, there is a chance that you will be turned away from the Park. This would be a terrible mistake, so plan and make those Park Pass Reservations early.
Not Downloading My Disney Experience
My Disney Experience is the official app of Walt Disney World. This is going to be your key to the magic. You will probably be frustrated if you don’t download it before your trip. The app has so much to offer Guests, but it can get too much if you don’t look it over before your trip.
Download that app early on so you can navigate it while at home. This is a great way to get familiar with where vital information is located. The more you know about the app, the better off you will be when you arrive at Walt Disney World.
Don’t make the mistake of waiting to download it at Walt Disney World. This will cause frustration and stress.
Skipping Rest Time
Planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be easy to plan every minute. This is a huge mistake as it will cause meltdowns and a not-so-magical experience. When at Walt Disney World, it is essential to plan downtime.
Everyone, including adults, gets worn down while at Disney. Because of this, take time for rest. Plan afternoons at the pool or even a whole Resort day. Enjoy sleeping in, swimming, and relaxing. Taking a day to do this can make a huge difference.
Not Enjoying Your Disney Resort
We already mentioned using the pool, but don’t make the mistake of not enjoying your Disney Resort. You are spending a lot of money to stay there, so take time to enjoy it. There are many activities that Guests can enjoy at Disney Resorts.
Guests can enjoy activities such as trivia and other pool games each day at the main feature pool. At night, you can often enjoy a movie under the stars. Disney also offers crafts, scavenger hunts, and other fun daily activities.
Take time to ask at the front desk for the activities guide when you are there. This will allow you to take advantage of all your Disney Resort offers.
Skipping Online Check-in
Take time before your trip to complete the online check-in at your Walt Disney World Resort. This form is found on the My Disney Experience app or website. It will ask you to put in a state of payment and an estimated arrival time.
Once your Walt Disney World Resort is ready, you can return to your room. This allows you to skip the check-in desk, where lines form quickly throughout the day. Online check-in is a huge time saver that many don’t utilize.
Not Thinking Through Dining
No matter what your dining style is: quick or sit-down, you will need a plan at Walt Disney World. Although there are some places where you can grab a pretzel or popcorn quickly, you need to plan where and when you will eat.
If you want to enjoy some of Disney’s table-service restaurants, you will want to make reservations starting at the 60-day mark. Although this might seem high, many of Disney’s most popular restaurants fill up that early.
You will want to take time to mobile order when looking at quick service options. This feature is found on the My Disney Experience app. It allows Guests to place their orders ahead of time. You select a specific window and can then bypass the ordering line during busy meal times.
Don’t waste time in line waiting for food. Instead, go into the Parks with an overall plan of attack so you are ready.
Know the Transportation
We love that Walt Disney World provides free transportation around the property. This is a considerable advantage for Guests as they don’t have to worry about driving. Take time before you arrive to learn about what transportation is available.
Know how you will get to and from your Disney Resort to the Parks, Disney Springs, or other Disney Resorts. Thinking through this can save you a lot of frustration and stress.
We walk through the different modes of transportation on How to Disney to help you navigate it easier. Use that to help get you started.
Those are some terrible mistakes that Guests make when visiting Walt Disney World. They can make a big difference in your overall experience in the Parks and at your Disney Resort. We hope that by sharing them with you, you will head into your trip with a plan and ready to have a magical time.
