From November 3 to November 11, select areas of the Disney park will be sectioned off for filming, giving guests a behind-the-scenes look at the magic that goes into one of Disney’s most cherished holiday traditions. While some areas may have limited access, don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of your favorite characters, parade floats, or even celebrity performers as they make their way through the park for the cameras.

Filming for the Christmas Day Parade at Magic Kingdom takes place well in advance of its airing to ensure time for editing and adding those extra magical touches. The actual parade, which will air on Christmas morning, is known for its festive floats, musical performances, and the iconic Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.

For visitors lucky enough to be at Magic Kingdom during this time, the park will be fully decorated for the holidays, providing an extra layer of seasonal charm. From the towering Christmas tree at the park’s entrance to Main Street, U.S.A. lined with shimmering lights and garlands, the holiday spirit will be in full swing.

What makes this time even more special for guests is the rare opportunity to see Disney in action behind the scenes. Seeing the production crew at work, the cameras rolling, and cast members in holiday costumes can add an extra layer of magic to your visit. While it’s important to note that some attractions or pathways might be temporarily blocked due to filming, most of the park remains accessible, and the unique experience of seeing the parade unfold in real-time is worth any minor inconvenience.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of the Christmas Day Parade or just visiting the parks for a magical holiday trip, being at Magic Kingdom during the filming brings a little extra sparkle to your experience.

If you can’t make it to the parks in November, you can still catch the magic from home when the parade airs on ABC on Christmas morning, bringing all the festive joy and holiday cheer of Disney right into your living room.
